| Yorkie History My name is Richard Haynes and I started in Yorkies in 1963 and made up a UK Champion in 1975 -Ch. Eburacum Paladin. For years I kept a few Yorkies but business got in the way of my dog activities. Now I am semi retired and resuming my passion for Yorkies. I am looking for any old pedigrees, memorablia, records of the men and women who created our wonderful breed. I am writing for the Yorky Club Magazine 'An Appointment with History' I have joined the Halifax and Bradford history societies and have found out quite a bit about the origins of our breed including the very first Yorkshire Terrier Club in Halifax in 1886 and much more. If you have anything to share with us all please contact me. Many thanks and Here's to that great little dog 'The Yorkshire Terrier'.If you have questions about the early history, I will try to help you. Last edited by yorkshireroots; 10-18-2008 at 11:44 PM. |

| Hi and welcome to YT!!! As the majority of Yter's are in the US you will probably get more responses to your post later on, I hope you find what you are looking for here. I too would love to know more about our breeds history, can I become a member of The Yorky Club or is it for exhibitor's and breeders only? I'm only a mere pet owner!LOL! But I do love this breed and am keen to learn as much as I can!
