![]() Hello all, I have a five month old that just recently started barking when there is seemingly nothing to bark at. We would be in the upstairs office and he would run to the closed door, sniff under it and start barking. I live in a condo but he isn't barking at the walls that are shared with others he goes to the door and barks. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you!

![]() General Lee barks at nothing many times. We think that he hears something that we don't see or hear. There may be something very minute that they hear. He has been known to bark at the leaves as they blow across the front yard. At night if I am by myself it is a bit concerning when he suddenly claws his way out from under the covers, goes to the edge of the bed and growls and barks, especially when I know there is nothing there.

![]() One of my babies, Jilly, is a barker. She hears distant noises and "warns" whatever it is to stay away. The other one, Scooter, rarely barks unless she really, really wants something, and let's me know in no uncertain terms that she is demanding my attention with one loud bark. I love the little 'wonky' noises they make, almost like purring, when I snuggle them. ![]() ![]()

![]() My little Morkie did this to me last night when I took her out to go potty around 11:00pm (it didn't help that I was in the middle of a scary movie called the Happening at the time.) She kept backing up, growling, and barking at nothing! She has never done that before. And like I said being that I was watching the scary movie it scared the tarnations out of me! I took her back inside and locked the door! ![]()

![]() They have very, very good hearing. She may have heard a mouse, or even bugs rustling around. Not saying that you have them, just that they can hear things that small. And, of course, there's always the ghostie aspect. Dogs - and CATS - are very good at sensing them.

![]() Katy Lou has started to do this very thing! She sound ferocious so I get up and look around and can't see or hear anything. It is creepy. I suspect it may be a stage they go through. She is 6 months old and maybe she thinks she is on "sentry" duty now. LOL

| ![]() Dogs have extremely sensitive ears and noses. He's probably hearing/smelling something that you can't.
