| I live in wv so we have a little of everything. Me and hubby took princess to the park the other day. I let her off the leash but she never goes far from me. All of a sudden hubby starts screaming "grab the dog" "grab the dog"...i didnt know what was going on but i scooped her up before asking questions and thats when i saw the hawk...omg it was coming right at us but then it just went back up high. I know it was after my baby...now she dont get off the leash anymore. I dont know what would have happened if i had all 4 yorkies with me, im not sure i could have grabbed all 4 in time.

| I tell you seems like we are hearing more and more stories of all these animals getting our dogs. I can't believe it can't they find there food in the wild? We live on the back side of a subdivison and its next to the fields. I wanted to feel like I was still in the country. I can see the deer, turkey and nature. But now you all are worrying me alot. We have seen owls sit in the trees before but not lately. I always am careful but they are never on the leash to go to the potty break. Now you all are making me wonder if I should go back to that. We always have our 90 lb dog with us but not sure if that would scare them or not the way it sounds, they are being very daring to come down now matter what is right beside these puppies.

The problem with coyotes is that they are highly adaptable. I watched a documentary not long ago and they talked about how they do not move on like other wild life, they stay and live in culvers, abandoned buildings, etc and then look for food ie domestic animals and food from our garbage. It also talked about how they are known to stalk small children! Cats that are left outdoors are killed all the time.

This is really scary but maybe we need this so we can be better Mommies. Last year, in another part of our county, there were coyotes getting little dogs. One woman lost her pom and her neighbor lost a chi and when the news crews were there taping the segment you could see the coyotes lingering around in the distance. They are not nocturnal are they? I know every time we've seen one it's been during the day. I think once they spot what they want, they'll keep lingering around.

| We have hawks in our yard sitting on the fence watching the yorkies, so that is why we use pee pads now. It's too scarry to take a chance.
