| YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | I need to hear from those of you that have long, cold, winters... What is the best thing to keep them warm & dry during those snowstorm potty breaks? I've seen jackets, but most are too bulky. I really like the fleece hoodies, but I need one with a D-Ring (and most of the ones I've seen just have the hole). Also, can your yorkie see when they are wearing a hoodie? I had a jacket with a hood for Gellica last year, but the hood seemed to drive her nuts always flopping in her face. I think I want a simple warm fleece pullover or wrap around with a D-Ring. What kinds of sweaters, jackets, sweatshirts does your yorkie wear? Do they like it? I got a pair of booties for her this year, but so far, she's not having it! She will wear clothes just fine -- she just dosesn't like anything over her head or on her feet! Any suggestions?

| Hi, what I have Baxter wear is a double layer fleece coat that velcroes under his neck and his tummy. It keeps him warm and the snow off of him. I gave up with a hood because it drives him nuts as he cannot see when it flops over his face. But it is funny to watch lol

| YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | Thanks guys! So, I guess most of your little ones are okay with the hoods? Maybe I'll give it another try, since I can't seem to find the fleece without the hoodie. I did check out Go Fetch, and they do have the D-Rings - Thanks again!!

| Even if you get a hoodie which is nice and warm, you don't have to put the hood on him. Mine will wear a hood if he wants and if he doesn't he will shake it off. I have 2 winter coats. One is a fleece/sherpia jacket, nice and warm. But for the snow/rainy days he has a coat with fleece inside and the water repellent material on the outside. He does also have hoodies and a couple sweaters. The sweaters are cheap, from Wal-Mart. Also I bought booties. They will only be used for the snow/ice. He seems fine with it and he likes the feeling of the fleece! So get a hoodie they are warm and comfy, but they don't have to wear the hood.

| Here's my suggestion from Sunny SC where our winter's average high temp is in the 50's - why take your babies outside at all??? My 5 yr old is trained to use puppy pads - what a hugh convenience No early morning, late night trips outside, no bad weather cold nor rain trots out to potty. I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH HOW WONDERFUL PUPPY PADS ARE... and no she does not use the bathroom throughout the house, place the pads in one or two places only (such as laundry room, basement etc) and train your baby to go there. If you need to convert from outside to pads, bring some grass and dirt and place it on top of the pad, gradually reducing the amount until it's mostly paper. I find the arm and hammer brand to be best for absorbing odors and they don't leak thru to the floor. If I lived in the North I would not use anything except pads. Also regardless of where we are, my office, another home, my Yorkie goes straight to wherever a pad is (even if the pad was placed there for another dog to use). ![]() Last edited by zenzele; 10-18-2008 at 11:11 AM. |

| YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | Well, all five of my yorkies are pee pad trained, but Gellica just loves the outdoors, and she pefers to go outside. I wouldn't deprive her of it, even though I really don't care for the cold. The website I used for GoFetch is this one: go.fetch™
