Do you think an owner should change an adult dog's name????

So how did you handle the change did you call him by both names at first "Tyson Kobe " and then eventually dropped Tyson? Or did you just start calling him Kobe?

I have always renamed mine when they come home, it makes it feel like I have my personal touch to it.

I got Brownie when he was 3 and changed his name to Brownie. He figured it out quickly.

My dogs have many nicknames and they answer to all of them. Just start calling the dog the name you want to use and he'll catch on quickly. You know I experimented with calling my baby by a different name and she looked at me...so maybe it's not the name but the fact that I am calling her! Now I just have to figure out what THAT name will be!

Zen - We just started calling him Kobe once we figured out that was his name (within about half hour after we got him!). We never used the name Tyson at all. Just Kobe this Kobe come here, Kobe outside and he just went! So far so good! I say Kobe...he comes running immediately. So at least for him, being 3 and all, he was pretty easy!
