| Hey everyone!!! How are you all doing on this gorgeous Saturday? I know lots of you have more than one Yorkie, and I was wondering how you all handle it? I just got Buddy a week ago and I have the chance go get another Yorkie Monday. Buddy is 10 pounds and the new Yorkie is 5 lbs. Would this work out? How do you do it? Can they sleep in the same crate (I have a big one)? Will they fight with each other since they are both male or do they get along easily? Please please let me know asap! The more info the better. Thanks again!

| What are their ages? It may take time for them to adjust to each other, which means at least for a while they can't sleep in the same crate. |

| Not all yorkies get along , but most of the time they do. Having two neutered males is a good combination and should work out just fine. The problem is with the girls most of the time...hormones.... It might take a bit of adjustment or maybe they will be friends right away. Best of luck with them. |

| I have a 2 year old and I would be getting a 7 month old. Do you think I should go for it (from your personal experience)? Or should I just keep my Buddy? Thanks! Any other info will be helpful!

| I think the age difference is favorable. Are you up to taking care of a puppy? If Buddy is left alone for long periods during the day, the pup might be good company when he get's older. I think I'd just stick with Buddy otherwise, unless you have some really good reason to get a second dog. |

| I have been through so much in my life and my husband is gone most of the day and he travels. I am sick and disabled, but not to the point where I cant take care of 2 dogs and a pup. I feel like they fill the void I have never had. I never had a childhood, because I was always ill and now that I got Buddy I feel better. So I feel like one more would make me feel great. I dont want Buddy to feel slighted or anything like that. But Since I was sick since I was 10 (and I am 25 now), I missed out on so much from always being hospitalized. Now that I am better, I feel its my time to make up for what I missed. (Im tearing up now, sorry). But it is hard. Anyways, do you think Bud would feel slighted or feel like the pup was taking over? Thanks again!

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would go for it if you don't mind a small adjustment period. I had an 8 year old pom when I brought Cali home at 9 weeks and that went fine. Cali was very laid back and Maya just ignored her. Then when Cali was 1 1/2 we brought home Pixie who was 13 months old and use to being mainly with other dogs so she was fine and really took to Maya my pom. Then when Pixie was 2 and Cali 2 1/2 we got Dixie (RIP) and then Roxie. With the additon of Roxie it got a little wild. They pick on Cali and play fight a lot but they snuggle up together and it is so worth it. I did keep the newest one in a crate when I couldn't watch them together but with all they soon got along and could be left together. It is fun watching them all interact. So I would go for it!!

| I gave each of my girls their own space until they demonstrated to me that they wanted to cohabitate. Don't force them on each other, give them time to become friends and give your first one extra attention.

My arthritic 12 year old had a very bad reaction when I brought home the pup. I couldn't believe how the older one ran, hid, cowered, and started drooling uncontrollably. However, in about 3 or 4 weeks he got over it. The pup is dominant, several month later, and sometimes bullies the older one or maybe it's just play. I think the older one is just too old and arthritic to deal with a pup literally in his face, that wants to play. Now they peacefully coexist, but don't play together. Again, it seems like the age difference, you are looking at, is in your favor. Plus I think the two males will be a good match. Wait and see what others have to say. I'm far from an expert. | IMO you can never have to many Yorksters... It might be good if you let the two meet in a neutral place where Buddy has no 'house rights' and let them get to know each other. That way Buddy doesn't feel like the new puppy is an intruder and he has to defend his home turf. |

| I would go for it. Yorkies love playmates. if they are both neutered there should not be any problems. I would not leave them alone unsupervised until you find out how they are going to behave. If you have established yourself as top dog, and neither of them is dog agressive. they shoujld be good friends. |

| I'd say go for it!! I just got our 8th yorkie 3 weeks ago. We had two that passed away at the beginning of the year, Petree & LoveBug. Petree was my first yorkie. She was 14 years old. Anyway, Sprinkles is our new addition and everyone is getting along pretty good. I have one Levi, who is 10 years (he is not thrilled. He said we are not a yorkie refuge. Why do you keep bringing more home?) With your two being so close in age. I think it will work out well. Just make sure you show Buddy is still top dog! You have a lot of love to give and another baby would be happy to get it!! We are at 6 yorkies now. Our half dozen. Levi, Rocky, Petie, Bubbles, CoCo and now the new addition-Sprinkles. |

| Since I got Cash - about two years ago - I have wanted to get another yorkie. But I put off getting another one because I read somewhere that you should only get a second one if the first one would be a good example for the baby. And honestly, I think that it could be a bit difficult for you because you just got Buddy and now another baby... But that is just my opinion. Cash was very hyper when he was younger and I wouldn't have been able to handle him and another one, but I think it depends on the dog and on you. Good luck either way, Keri!! And good luck Buddy
