| Potty Training Sadie will be 6 months old on the 16th of October. She is not fully potty trained yet. I still find puddles on the floor sometimes. She knows to go outside but will still pee inside sometimes. Not every time, but sometimes. She hasnt learned to tell us when she needs to go out so if we arent paying attention (which is easy in a house with 3 boys), she'll pee on the floor. My husband works an early shift so she goes out at night before I go to bed (around 10pm). My husband gets up at 3am and takes her out then. She goes out when I get up with the boys for school around 6:30-7am. Sometimes she makes it all night, sometimes she doesnt. Sometimes theres a puddle on the floor somewhere throughout the day. How do I teach her to let us know when she needs to go out? I have caught her peeing before and will snatch her up and take her out but I dont catch her very often so its been hard to enforce it. Dont get me wrong though, she DOES pee and poo outside for the most part, but I really need to figure out how to teach her to let us know when she has to go out....Ideas?? | You've got a long way to go. My two older ones are 2 and 4 years old and still occasionally have accidents. I think consistently is key. If you do a search, you'll find tons of threads relating to potty training.

| I read a very intresting article about potty training I will have to try to find it and post the link. It says if the dog pottys in the house take a paper towel and soak it up, then take that paper towel outside and place it where you want the dog to potty at. The clean the floor with ivory dishsoap and water. After that mix 50% white vinegar & 50% water and clean the area with that. The vinegar water mixture elimanate the smell for them so its like they have never went potty there, so they won't be encourgaged to potty in that spot again. I am doing this with my puppy and its working great so far. Best of luck to you |

| Potty Training is an on going measure when they haven't reached a year old. They do really well and then sometimes back slide. Its just important to be patient with them and just keep up the process they will get it. Make sure you are asking your dog if they have to go out. They will finally bark and head for the door.
