Petsmart Halloween Costume contest is 10/23/08 at a store near you.PetSmart Howl-O-Ween Central Click on in-store events.

Last year I got there early and they ran the contest early. I suggest getting there 30 minutes or so ahead of the scheduled contest time.

Yep thats what they did at my Petsmart too. By 6:30 they were ready to wrap it up!

I'm curious if they are looking for original home made costumes or if the store bought costumes are even contenders??? How do they choose the winners? If it is originality it sure seems like the store bought costumes wouldn't have much of a chance. Am I correct in thinking that?

Oh gosh dang it! I would SO love to go to this again....last year we had so much fun when we went (meaning US, THE HUMANS lol) - my babies hated it though

Tatum was actually picked to be in the top 3 but she was soooo dang scared that we couldn't even wait around to hear the results of whether or not we won...we had to leave

She was absolutely TERRIFIED of all the tons of dogs barking, loud clapping, kids, screaming, hollering...she just could not take it. Her little hear was beating a mile a minute and she would NOT look at ANYONE. She kept crawling up on my shoulder and turning around to face the wall behind us

People kept trying to pet her and she just didn't want to have anything to do with them lol. My poor girl. I remember putting her down on the floor so that everyone could see her costume (when we were in the big "voting circle" thingie) and she just went FLAT to the floor...all four's were spread out flat like a pancake

Gosh, it broke my heart! We left and as soon as we got in the car I gave her some Nutri-Cal and water

My poor little angel baby.

Now Stedman on the other hand....LOL.....was going BEZERK and wanted to eat all of the other dogs in there

Hah! Not really...but he would NOT quit his barking

At one point all was quiet and then Steddy started yapping and got all of Petsmart going (the dogs I mean)

Oh NEVER AGAIN! lol. I would LOVE to go...but if we do, it'll just be hubby and I going to watch...the babies will unfortunately have to stay home

And seeing all of the other cute little babies dressed in their costume is going to make me miss mine sooo much

It can be either or - store bought or home made. I think they vote on the all around "package"...meaning - the doggie itself, the costume, the way the doggie LOOKS in his/her costume...just everything in general

When we went last year the top 3 got picked by the entire audience and if I am remembering correctly, the Petsmart staff as well.

Yes, it is the 21st - At least at my local store because I noticed the poster when I was there yesterday!!

Hey again not to be rude, the last thing I wanna do is offend anyone but ur link also says 2007 so I went to the petsmart website and clicked halloween central and its a different layout and stuff PetSmart Howl-O-Ween

Our Petsmart only the employees decided. I think if you and your furbutt dressed alike or something related (cinderella/pumpkin - tinkerbell/peterpan - etc)

I just call my in Bluffton, SC and the gentleman who answer the phone said that they were having it on the 21st from 6-8 pm. My son that lives around Columbia said that it was there's store was having it on the 23rd. I wondering if it depends on the location of the store.
