picking up the new puppy! Super nervous and just need to vent. I have the house ready with everything needed. I couldn't have planned more - now i'm just freaking out! sorry, venting done - pictures to follow soon :D |
I'm sure everything will be ok. I can't wait to see pictures :). Good luck! |
When do you get your baby? Do you have a name picked out? Details please :p |
yay! Got her home and she ate immediately. We played for about an hour as she explored and pee'ed for the first time on the floor . She is now crashed out in the sun room with me relaxing =D Her ears are all taped up so she looks just extra cute. Pictures SOON! |
:)Lucky you...enjoy your puppyhood:aimeeyork, they grow up way too fast!! :animal-pa Mom to Casey:aimeeyorkand Riley:aimeeyork:animal-pa: |
WoooHooo!!! There is nothing like new puppy breath! Congrats! |
Congratulations!!! Can't wait to see her. |
so, its just about the end of day 1 I got the dog to poo outside for the first time! I praised it so much i think i terrified the poor creature, happy overload. She is now resting nicely in her crate, and i'm hanging out near the crate watching some TV. Now comes the first night. I'm waiting for when the dog calls out to take her outside, should be interesting. |
Congratulatios on the new baby... It sounds like she is settling in really well!! What have you decided to name her?? I can't wait to see pics. Hope all goes well during the night....Enjoy her....Blessings...:aimeeyork Baron's Mom |

its 3:43am right now and things are going well. At midnight she woke me up, and i took her outside - instant pee. I brought her back in, and she cried out again (i thought she just didn't want to go back in the crate) and she poo'ed (oops!). She HATED being near her poo in the cage (good sign). Quickly cleaned, then back to bed. Woke me up again at 3am for a quick pee break. Now i need to get back to sleep for the 6am! |
5:15, she gave a quick little yelp (her 'i'm about to pee, hurry up noise) and i rushed her outside. Being that its 5am i came inside too soon, she started to pee inside but i rushed her out and she finished there (great!) something strange DID happen though. I'm standing on the back deck and i hear barking from the woods! Sounded like a 'small breed' bark, but it sounded none too happy. I picked up the puppy and rushed her back in quick (thats not a situation i want). I hope it was just a fluke and not another dog smelling my puppy (ugh). |
Smoop...you're a new mommie for sure, reporting every detail...Have no fear, we are right here with you. Sure could use some pictures of the baby. |
1 Attachment(s) 7:00am puppy alarm clock goes off and off we go to the great outside. She quickly goes poo (YAY!) and i just as quickly step in it. We then head back inside for some food (she has food out all the time per the breeder) and she squats to go pee and i rush her out and she finishes pee'ing! I don't want to jinx it, but i see good things from her =) I'm a little tired out from waking up every 3 hours, but i figure every day will be a little better. |
OK OKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK I can't stand it, and I am just the distant AUNTIE. Sounds like you all are off to a brillant start. |
OMG, what a little darlin'. :D She is precious! Enjoy her and get some rest when you get a chance. |
what a cutiepie!!! good luck!! sounds like you are on top of everything:). |
She is such a cute fur ball, and well behaved too.Letting you know she needs to go pee, what a darling little girl.Congratulations on your new baby.Any names yet? |
no name yet, so far her name is 'good girl' :D I had to step out of the house for an hour or so today so i took her out and she made #1 and #2 - GREAT i though, i can leave her for an hour no problem. I left the house (freaking out the whole time) and got back and she had pee'ed in her kennel - she was SO upset. I cleaned her up and played. About 30 mins later she starts sniffing at the door (AWESOME!) and starts to pee. I snag her up and run her outside, she then poops! YAY! It would appear she has made a mental connection with going outside for bathroom time! I'm also working on 'chew toy good, table legs bad'. Every time we play with a chew toy i praise - when she chews a leg i slap the floor and say no. I'm exhausted, but i love her. and no name yet, i'm awful |
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh she is just so cute, enjoy this special time, she is really a cutie... Would love more pictures when you have time:) names............ Lulu, nellie, tootsie, chloe, sophie - i will keep on thinking of more suggestions. |
Congratulations! I love the little updates! I'm getting my little boy on nov 7th. I'm so excited! I hope mine is as smart as yours about the potty training! That would be nice. Is this your first pup? |
how old is she? she looks a lot like my little girl, Abigail Rose, who was 12 weeks today. |

Pup is now crashed out on the couch getting ready for bed. She is in desperate need of a proper bath. Need to pick up a couple of things at the pet shop tomorrow (dog soap being #1). Tonight is night two, i consider it 'night one of puppy bladder endurance'. My hope is she can hold it longer and longer so that SHE can get a good night sleep and not get cold outside. We shall see Also thanks for the name suggestions, every name helps :animal-pa |
Your baby is adorable!!! Keep up the good work...sounds like she's catching on fast:D |
:) Awww congrats, she is beautiful :) |
awww she is adorable and so smart to. |
What a cutie you have there. Keep up the good work on potty training 101. A suggestion...consider using a word or phrase such as "hurry up"...that's what I did for Winston. He learned quickly that it meant go potty now or hold it. But really she's doing great that she is already associating the door/outside/potty. Patience and consistency are the keys along with a schedule. Hope you come up with a name real soon...usually after seeing her and knowing her you'll find a name that fits her perfectly. Most of all simply enjoy her...they are so worth it. |
Wow, what a doll. It sounds like you're doing a fantastic job. since everyone's saying she's such clever girl... How about naming your cutie pie "SMARTY"? :D...hint hint. |
Smarty is a cute name! I currently use the words 'go potty' for umm, going potty. After potty its the GOOD GIRL party. So its 2:45 on night two and things couldn't be better. At 12:45 and 2:40 she gave a quick 'meep!' and i rushed her outside and she pee'ed quick. No poop yet though (i hope she is holding it). The other good thing is that *I* got used to waking up, much less painful then last night. I figure on more potty break around 6am. I also am giving her some food/water time to make sure her blood sugar levels stay even through the night. Thanks to everyone in this thread! Just having a little 'diary' of events is helping me stay focused. Vet at 9am, puppy is asleep on my bed now (time to put her back in the crate), time for smoop to sleep too! |
Congatulations! your puppy sounds like one smart cookie! Keep up the good work:DShe look adorable.....can't wait to hear what name u pick out for her. Love from Claire and Twinkle xxx xxx |
5:47, got a poop out of her. I then brought her back in and realized "where there is smoke there is fire" back out for a pee (it worked). So that marks the first night with no accidents in the crate or house (woot!). Also no false cries at night, she only cried when she had to go. right now i'm hearing her belly make noise, so its either bad gas or diarrhea  back to bed |
