| ![]() For those of you who have added a 2nd pup, how long did it take for them to really like each other? Don't get me wrong, they play together, but he still gets very jealous even if I pay attention to him first. If I make the mistake and pick her up first, he gets bent out of shape. Maggie seems to not want to sleep with Hot Rod. They fall alseep on the couch but then she gets up and goes somewhere else. Tonight I put them both in the bed in the expen and she got out and was on the floor behind the bed. I just hope that she is not being too intimadated by Hot Rod. She stands up for herself but she usually is the submissive one. Am I worried over nothing? Thanks for your responses.

| ![]() It took Annie nearly a year to truly warm up to Boo when he joined the family. Tragically she died shortly after this. Boo tolerated Gracie when she came. He was still grieving over Annie, but he couldn't stay sad too long with funny little Gracie bouncing around and begging for play. In about a month he was playing with her. But it's taken nearly 5 months for him to really start to warm up to her. He only gets annoyed and will leave the room when she plays with her squeaky toys. He doesn't like the sound, poor guy. And squeaky toys are her absolute favorites. But I've found them snuggling several times and he seems more willing to share his Daddy lately.

| ![]() Mufasa was a little leery when we got our yorkiepoo, Nahla. It really wasn't long before they were friends though. Jealousy is another matter!~ HA! I always pay attention to Mufasa first when I come home from work and then I love on Nahla because Mufasa is very jealous. If I'm loving on Nahla, Mufasa will come out and practically try and push her off of me with his nose. It's kinda cute. Nahla could care less and her tail just wags all the time. They get along great but Mufasa is still definitely jealous if he thinks we are giving our attention to Nahla and not him. |

| ![]() It depends on the dogs it can be right away or it could take up to a year. JL |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | ![]() They may never snuggle/sleep together. Only once did Reggie try to squish himself in a bed with Reese. Reese looked at me like ![]() Ramsey took to Reese immediately....they both ignored Reggie...quite literally for 3 days. After that Reese couldn't take the temptation to play... Ramsey and Reese both prefer their daddy....Reggie is mine. ![]()

| ![]() Katie was 14 months when we got Suzi. We've had her 8 weeks. At first if Suzi went near her food bowl Katie would growl. Now they share bowls. They playfight all the time, but Katie is obviously the dominent one up to now, Suzi was used to a big Yorkie family though so sticks up for herself.. Katie likes her space in bed and if Suzi get's too close she growls, but all in all they get on pretty well. I think it mostly takes time. Hugs Shirl x x

| ![]() Thanks for everyone's responses. They do play together and I have a big square pillow that they both will lay on together. sometimes they chase each other til they are so tired and just plop down on the floor panting. It just that Hot Rod acts mean to Maggie will bite poor Maggies ear until she yelps. And sometimes he snaps at her and makes an awful sound! Maggie will kinda back off and retreat. I feel really bad for her. She looks so sad and I wind up picking her up or petting her and this doesn't sit well with Hot Rod. This used to happen at feeding time and then I started to put down 2 bowls and now I even make sure to give Hot Rod his first. I've been told that Hot Rod is just letting her know that he's first but I just feel so bad for Maggie. I found that if I try to play fetch with them it doesn't work. I just throw the toy and then back off. They will tug between the 2 of them but I try to play with them, Hot Rod snaps at Maggie for my attention. Sigh, I guess I just have to keep an eye out and make sure that he doesn't hurt her. There are just some awful sounds that come out.

I would try teaching Hot Rod some pacintes and fd him last. He is always going to think he is top dog and depand that if you always give it to him.... last and make him sit and wait till his sister is done than pck up the sis and feed him. He will be to busy eating to even notice you are having a cuddle. Noise in play unless it comes along with bites and hurt is just noise and do not worry. Some dogs make play nioses a lot more then other. Just cause they are playing quite does not make it any more safe. If he snaps at her... darn time out... if he shows anything by way of nice or calm feed that with love. He wants attention he is nice to his sister. JL | |

| ![]() My two bonded almost instantly. They have been together 3 months now and Taz whines if she is not with him. (Unless he is going bye-bye in the car). They sleep together and are basically inseperable.

| ![]() I hope my girls get along eventually. I brought Ella home last night and Lucy was NOT happy. She was giving me and my husband the cold shoulder for like an hour. I took her for a walk and spent some time with her but when she didn't want to listen I had to tell her that I was boss. She let me snuggle her after that. Later that evening I was holding Ella on the couch and my husband kept rewarding Lucy with treats every time she got closer to Ella. She is very curious, so I hope that is a good sign. Every few minutes, I saw Lucy's ears peeking around the corner to get a look at Ella. It was so cute. Lucy is mostly hiding out in our bedroom and comes out everyone in a while to be nosey. I put Ella in her crate so I could take Lucy outside and then I held Lucy in my lap while sitting next to the crate. She was shaking like a leaf! I don't know what else to do. It hasn't even been 24 hours so I am hoping that maybe after a few days she will at least tolerate Ella being in the same room. Any advice??

| ![]() Well, as time has been going on, the two of them are getting along better. We had to clean Maggie's ears one night and of course she was not happy about it. Well, who would have thunk that Hot Rod would be so concerned? ![]() ![]() I did find them in the same bed one night when I went down for a glass of water. Yea! But they still are not 100%. The play is happening more than the fighting now, but he still gets a little jealous. If she tries to eat out of his bowl, he will put her in her place. But...I can carry both of them at the same time! We had Maggie since July 26th so it's been 7 weeks now.

| ![]() Buddy is 1 and Bella is 5 months and has been with us for the last two months. They get a long great but...Bellas wines without Buddy, but Buddy is much happier when he is free and she is not. When she is free he will usually go lay in the other room and choose not to be around any of us, he looks so sad!! I know they will adjust eventually..

| ![]() Artie was a Year and a half and I took him w/me to visit different Breeders that had puppies that were available, he played w/alot of the puppies but once he met Abiagail they were Inseperable from the moment they met it was Love at first sight? Every morning Artie wakes up and climbs his Stairs to my Bed, where Abigail sleeps after he Kisses me, he and Abigail kiss each other and they cuddle together and he sleeps w/her until we get up to start our day. It's so sweet, niether one has ever shown each other any negative, aggressive/possesive behaviour, fighting or jealousy. It's a blessing that they get along so well. I figured they have to spend the time together, they have to get along and should have the choice of whom they are going to spend the rest of their Lives with? |
