| I love Maltese! All you guys have such beautiful babies! I've had Bailey for 8 years now and I adore him. I joined YT to learn more about yorkies b/c I want another toy breed pup. Boy has it been informative! I've narrowed my choices down to Yorkies, Maltese or Shih Tzu. If they are healthy, groomed, and their teeth are in good condition, Maltese shouldn't smell at all. Tear staining can be caused by genetics, tap water, dyes in food or treats, a type of yeast infection or teething. Here's a pic of Bailey: http://http://i299.photobucket.com/a...i_ku_5/001.jpg |

| Lady always smells wonderful! Maltese don't have any oil in their coats so they should never have an odor. Here's my pretty girl. |

| I have both a Yorkie and a Maltese. They don't smell unless you don't bathe them and they do bark loud and constantly. Mine is very easy going and overall just always happy and playful. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | If you are really serious about this I hope you look into it, some Maltese do have problems with their eyes, and this can lead to a yeast infections which do smell bad. You shouldn't leave this untreated though, as I believe it can lead to a whole body type of yeast infection.

My Maltese, NEVER, NEVER, had an odor. That is one reason that I bought him.
