YT 500 Club Member | Dumb Question-Car seat? For those of you who use a car or booster seat for your fur babies, how do you keep them out of the sun? We were looking at them, and my husband said he just couldn't see himself driving around with one of those shades in the window like the ones people use with babies (first year screens or shades.) I am afraid that she could be stuck in the sun while we are driving and not be comfortable.

| I think the suction cup ones by First Year are the way to go. We put both of ours in crates to travel, and that tends to keep most of the sun off them. A towel/light blanket might help too if you're using a crate. You may be able to rig up a light blanket if your booster seat is suspended from the headrest and/or around the seat. We have one like that too.

| Our windows are slightly tinted. If is seems that the sun is to strong on one side of the car and you can move the seat/booster, move it. For us it is a bit hard to move but because of the tinting he is fine. If the weather is good, we open the window a bit to get a good breeze and he seems to like it. Also, with some booster seats you can raise or lower them. Ours has an air pillow in the bottom that we can let the air out to lower it if the sun is shining to much on him, or raise it up. We also control the height with a blanket in the seat itself. |

YT 500 Club Member | Thanks for the info. We have used the kennel/blanket thing when we have gone on trips too. However she loves to look out. I also thought that maybe having it in the center would make the sun issue better. I just wasn't even sure if it is an issue. That's why I wondered if it is a dumb question.

| That is a really good question. I have a car seat that sits on the console and straps to the back of the seats. In the mornings, Katy sits in hers backwards (there is some room with the harness strap) so the sun is not in her eyes. |
