Hello , I am brand new to the Forum .. and I have a new Yorkie Puppy named Bella . She is 14 weeks old and this morning her stomach is making gargling noices like she is Hungry .. but she does not want to eat anything .. Is this normal ?

Joey's breeder recommended free feeding for Joey until 6 months of age. This means that food is available at all times. Small breeds such as Yorkies, often use all their energy reserves, and develop hypoglycemia; one of the symptoms of hypoglycemia is loss of appetite, and this further compounds the problem. Nutri-cal is a sugar supplement in tube form and a tiny bit rubbed on the roof of the mouth will help with the low sugar, and their appetite should return. Don't give to much Nutri-cal or they could be filled up from that. Nutri-cal is the same thing as Karo-syrup, (the white kind). How much does Bella weigh, and is she displaying any other symptoms?

She is about 2 to 3 pounds ..

That's still very tiny, have you read much about hypoglycemia, and what symptoms to look for? They say you need to be extra cautious when under four pounds.

One of our members posted this video on hypoglycemia, it shows the dogs head bobbing, and apparently this is a symptom.

Did you change diets from what the breeder was giving? And/or did you give new treats or ANY thing else?
