| Hello Everyone - New to site I just wanted to say Hi and say that this site has been very helpful in the past. I have two yorkies Kirby is 10(black/tan) and Cricket is 6(silver), Cricket was just diagnosed with LPN just a few weeks ago and we have been going through quite alot with her. She is taking 6 medicines and also on a special dog food. we are hoping in a few weeks she will be able to come off most of the medicine, but we do know whe will have to take one of them for the rest of her life however long that might be. We were told by the vets she could live six months or a couple of years just depending on how strict we were with the food and medicine. I was wondering if there was anyone on this forum that haves or has had a yorkies with this problem? |

| Hello Welcome to YT! You are right this is a pretty great place. I'm sorry I do not have answers to your questions but maybe you might find help on the sick and injured section. Can't wait to see pics of your babies!

| Welcome to YT. I'm so sorry to hear that your baby is sick I hope I don't sound dumb, but what is LPN? I've heard of LP and LS, but not LPN. My first dog's name was Cricket He was a beagle. I had from the time I was 2 y.o. until I was a Junior in High School. Needless to say, I love the name too. All the best to you and your furbaby. I hope someone can answer your question for you. BTW, we have a sick and injured board here for questions about health issues. You might get a better response to your question there.

| Thanks for everyone's help I have been searching through the sick and injured board and have found a few things that were helpful. PLN is Protien Losing Nathropieses (not sure if I spelled that right) I was told it was a condition were her kidney's do not process the protien then it fills up in her extemities, she is now doing very well and has come off all medications but two; we do a re-check in another month. I will keep everyone posted.
