| ![]() Baron's home alone rarely because we cannot stand leaving him. It's horrible because when we leave he barks like crazy, runs in circles, and pulls on our pants. We usually find someone to stay home with him but when he is home alone i guess he watches out the window. We leave his bed on top of chairs next to the window and he watches people walk by. i guess that makes it more entertaining for him.

| ![]() I have a new job and I have an 1 1/2 to 2 hour commute each way -- it's a nightmare, but with the economy the way it is, I took what I can get. I am away from about about 12 hours a day and Archie, bless him, is such a little trooper. He knows Mommy wouldn't be away from him so long if she had any other choice. I feel terribly guilty and hope that one day soon I will get a job closer to home. I think he sleeps most of the day, porr darling, but he's so happy to see me when I get home.

| ![]() I leave my baby for 12 hours when I have to work. But I only work 3 days one week and 4 days the next. So we have a lot of together time. I leave him in an x-pen with his crate, toys, pee pad, water and food. I cry almost every time I leave him. But I have to work. ![]()

| ![]() I am fortunate enough to be able to take my pups with me to the office. They are alone when I go to my morning workout and a tiny bit during the day for a total of maybe 2 hrs a day. They are little troopers and have adjusted to my routine very well. ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() On my long days I'm away from Oscar about 8 hours (2 days a week) and the other days I'm gone about 4 hours. He is still a puppy, so I keep him in a large crate with food, water, toys, his bed and a litter box. Leaving him made me sick to my stomach with guilt at first ... especially since as soon as I put him in the crate and started to walk away, he would wimper and cry so pitifully. I solved the crying problem by putting him in his crate, giving him a treat, and covering one end with a blanket so he can't see me walk away. Now I don't think he even notices when I leave. He sleeps all day, and then is out with me for 8 hours or so in the evenings. As soon as he's fully potty trained and stops trying to chew my place to death, I'll leave him out in a restricted area. |

| ![]() Only a couple hours if that per day. I have two shelties and a my little yorkie milo. We learned quickly many years ago with my shelties that for us crating was the best way to go if we would be gone for any period. It makes them feel safe as it is their own space, they are all right next to each other and they have a little bit of food (for a snack), water, a blanket and a toy. They are usually fast asleep when we get back lol. My youngest sheltie (she's not really that young, she's six years old) loves to sleep on her back with her feet in the air. It's soo funny. Milo tries so hard to copy her but always falls over lol.
