I just wanted to add that all 4 of my babies that I took to the vet for the final time were very peaceful the whole time. I think they knew and were greatful to be released from pain and illness. My husband told me that he once had a dog who 'shook' in fear every time he took her to the vet except for that final visit. She was calm and peaceful. I hope this gives you some comfort.

I've been there too. I feel so bad for you right now. As other's have said, it is one of the hardest things you will ever have to do. You are doing the right thing by Queenie. If she could talk, I'm sure she would say, "Thank You" for letting her go and no longer having her suffer. Hugs to you.

It's never easy to lose a beloved pet. Hold Queenie gently and tell her
how much you love her. It only takes a second and she will no longer
be in pain but once again happy, healthy and playing at Rainbow Bridge.
I do believe it's more painful for us who are left behind to grieve but
remember all the memories the two of you made over the years and I
hope you find comfort in thinking about them.
I have been there three times over many years and it's never easier.
Know in your heart your doing the right thing.
