Anyone else have any issue w/family...
 

My DH gives me all kinds of heck about me and my dogs... he was asking me what I do on yorkietalk all the time, I told him that i have learned a lot from everyone on here and he told me I baby the dogs too much anyway... I told him he never wanted to get on here then, because i am MILD compared to some others on here.... he asked me what others did that i didn't i told him that there are some that have strollers for their pups (he told me he would commit me), that there are some that do homecooking (he told me i am too lazy for that), i told him that i was wanting to make them some home made treats, he told me that if i made them treats before i made him homemade bread that he would throw it in the trash :( (he has been wanting me to make him bread for a month now lol) I don't know why i thought he might understand... I am 29 and I had a full abdominal hysterectomy in June, and I went through a bit of depression.. anyway... I dont know why i figured he would understand... i volunteer at the local pound and his family thinks i am nuts... they are like umm don't ppl get PAID to do that??!! anyway sorry for the long post i just really needed to vent

We understand.......we are all a little nuts over our fur babies.

You really are light weight compared to some of us!

I have the stroller, bought the largest SUV made (Ford Excursion 10 cylinder) for my dogs benefit, 3 puppy tents, tons of clothes and leashes, and hold a puppy BBQ every year.

Tell hubby you can adopt 10 kids or have a few yorkies and he may come around ( worked for my first 5)

lol thanks! I have one outfit and when he saw it he told me that he wouldnt go anywhere with me and my dog if he had that outfit on... he aslo doesn't want me taking them on trips with us :( I love taking my babies places!!!

My hubby used to give me a hard time about being on YT too. Until he joined a forum of his own....now he has his own addiction and I am always getting to say, "See? I TOLD you so!" :D

Gee thats to bad obviously hes not a Yorkie person.. Its sad that you arent allowed to enjoy your babies as much as you want to..

he wont let them sleep in our room, much less with us... I would love to do more with them!!

My hubby calls it dorkietalk and tells me if I put as much effort into the gym as I do YT then I would lose my 20 lbs real quick

:eek: I think that this is a jealously issue with him. Hubby' s get like that when mom's have a first baby sometimes too. They want to be number one, and when a certain someone moves in on their territory , they behave like that.....
Goodness, I have not been a member long myself, and well, um i have too many posts already, and my Suzi is my baby. Come in here and vent anytime you need to, we understand. I love my Suzi and this fourm too.

Your DH seems a little harsh :(. I feel sorry for you having to put up with that.

I think I'd sleep on the couch if my boyfriend told me I couldn't let Lilly sleep in the bed with us :rolleyes:.

:(he wont get on here he thinks we are all NUTS!! and i quote 'they are JUST dogs" :confused: I want to get another yorkie, but he gives me crap about the 2 i have, but i am the one home all day, and the one that does and pays for everything for my dogs...

My girls dont sleep in the bed with us because we have a mastiff that doesnt know his size and when they are on the bed he takes it upon himself to come on up and snuggle right in... but we both would love for them to sleep in the bed..especially Piper (hubby says thats his baby& I heard him say his most favorite baby)

he thinks its weird that i call them my furbabies too lmao

dont let other people put you down.. they should mind their own business..

do what you love.. if they dont understand, then too bad.. but your dh should be babied too... dogs give unconditional love.. but people have conditions.. dogs are better.. but people are more important than dogs:)

I do baby him lol... i made hima homemade german chocolate cake last week.. it takes FOREVER! and i couldnt eat it cause I am ALLERGIC!!! so he gets his babying lol

Mamamia don't know what to tell you:( my hubby didn't want a yorkie at first he wanted a big dog, but when I got Phoebe my first yorkie love everything change the only condition he has was that he will never walk Phoebe wearing pink or push a stroller you should see him now:yelrotflm give him some time and introduce things little by little, my hubby didn't want me back on yt because of what happens to me (long story):rolleyes:and don't want to go there at all:thumbdown but he respect my choice he just told me be very careful who you talk too, and after spending the saturday at Jeri's (new yt member friend) he is ok anyway be patient, maybe is he trying to tell you that he want more time with you:idontknow but you sure know him, ask him when he is in the good mood what is all that about:confused:

When we first got our Yorkie, my husband wasn't very excited about the fact that Carmen was going to sleep in the bed with us, but he got used to it and I think he loves Carmen as much as I do. She sleeps right in the middle of us! He now spills her as much as I do!!

my DH wasn't raised with animals as PART of the family... the family OWNED the animal... I feel like my animals are a step down from my kids, but i still love them and they are my furbabies!!

aw im sorry he is like that.. i feel like if i had a husband id probably get the same treatment.. oh well, what cna you do but hope they come around?? you are not crazy .. oh and I totally want a stroller for my babies LOL

I totally know how you feel. I had a full abdomin hysterectomy in March. in like 3 weeks my hubby was like..ugh shouldnt you be better already? and He was less then thrilled when I got Riley because we already had 3 other dogs. but I had my heart set on a Yorki, so I got him anyway..lol...and I have heard many referr to their husbands as DH, I never knew exactly what that stood for, so I like to think that it stands for Dam Husband!..lol. I just tune mine out after awhile,when he starts complaining about stuff. (and they say women nag all the time:animal36:whatraise)

lol...This subject is soooo dear to my heart....I have Barney.....He is amazing in my eyes....Hubby sees him as a "dog"....:rolleyes: Barney is my baby....He kept me from losing it literally when my daughter and grandbaby moved out....Talk about empty nest syndrome.....Barney has clothes he wears.....Special collars w/ little charms on them...Bows for all the outfits....They are boyish outfits and bows.....He has a stroller for long trips and for uses like the vets ofc or flea markets.....

Barney has never been on our bed,,,Hubby wont allow it.....He can get on the guest bedroom bed and he can get on the living room furniture but not hubby's chair....And he can go in the office but is not allowed around his desk or on his chair....I finally gave up on him- hubby is the way he is.....He will buy Barney's food for him(quality)...He will pay for Barney's vet visits and meds(heartworm)...He lets Barney out in the afternoons to potty....He just does not care for Barney...He does this for me....So I am accepting that this will probably never change.

BTW Hubby thinks I am on Yt too much also....But he has been really relaxed about this recently :confused:

HAHA!!! I like your post! I too have no idea what DH means but I like your interpretation! They do nag!! But they won't admit it!

You enjoy your furbabies my friend. If they don't understand, so what!! Strollers are ideal for shopping so you don't have to leave them in a car or at home. I haven't got one yet but plan too.

I'm sorry you have to deal with a not so understanding hubby, just tell him to go get a hobby or something. My husband almost went into cardiac arrest:eek: when he came home and found Princess Lulu LOL! But she has really won him over he adores her and takes her out for walks everyday(and wearing pink dresses too)he says that she is a chick magnet! that women constantly come up to him to pet my Princess:rolleyes:so I didn't believe him and one day I followed him to the park where he walks her and he was surrounded by women:D. He could care less what I do on the computer or how much time I spend.

I am glad that I've found lots of people that feel the same way about their dogs as I do! My husband is very understanding and seems to be as attached as I am. We even had Carmen at our wedding!

I always wanted a house dog. Hubbie said "I absolutely forbid it"! Got a mini schnauzer and he hated that dog. Somebody stole her so for fathers day the kids and I got him a white shepherd. He loves shepherds and especially the white. About 6 mos. after we got the shepherd an ad for a yorkie came up in the paper. I showed him the ad and he said NO!!! I proceded to say "You know what Knala means to you and how much you love her and she's you bud? Why can't I have that same relationship with a dog of my preference. Well we got Radar. He (hubby) is addicted. We now have 3 adult yorkies and our girl just had 2 babies and HE doesn't want to give them up. So we now have 5 yorkies. Don't give up. Sometimes though it will come back and bite you!!!LOL

LMAO DH stands dear husband... although damn husband fits better sometimes lmao... My DH was great for the first few weeks of my TAH, but then he is like can you do ANYTHING?? I wasn't allowed to drive, so I couldn't go ANYWHERE unless he took me lol.. I gripes and moans, but i usually do what i want in the end lol...
