I know for sure he can jump directly over one gate. That's why I bought the 2nd once yesterday. He doesn't even have a running start...he just leaped over the thing without even touching it! I'll try to find something to cover up the space at the bottom first....if that doesnt do it, I'll know he's climbing. Who knows....I've seen mice and hamsters squish themselves to fit between a space barely wider than 1/2 inch so maybe his big a** head is really fitting under there. I WISH I had a video camera! The only thing close is my video capture on my digital camera but it wont run all day long. |

You know... I think it was SimonandHallie that did the pancake under their gate.... Im going to look for that... |
You have got to set up a video camera and find out how he is doing it. I would love to see that!!!! :D |

CLose... it started with S... Shanatink's Chloe did the pancake crawl! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...than-me-2.html |
Sophie would crawl under the gate to get out. So, I stuff bath towels and pushed a chair up against the gate to keep her in. However, she was 12 yo., very sick and still managed to climb over a gate. If there is a will, there is a way. As for chewing, he sounds bored. Good luck and hope you find an answer to your gate situation. Warmly, Deborah PS I notice that he has access to carpeted flooring, can you keep him in the bathroom? |
i hate that he's getting bored but mama has to work to feed him better than she feeds herself! he has a zillion different things to chew on and if he wanted to run, he has plenty of space to do that since the hallway and kitchen are connected (that's where he's staying during the day when i'm at work). He has always been a fierce digger. I'm about to move to another apartment and I'm so afraid...if the place has all hardwood/ laminate flooring will he damage that even more than if there was carpet? the bathroom is extremely tiny...literally....toilet, sink, tub...maybe 5ft by 5ft of floor... i'd hire a clown or do doggy daycare to entertain him if i could afford it, but not now...i'm going thru a highly unplanned separation from my husband and income is cut in half :( there's a credit card with a slogan "Life comes atcha fast"...cant remember which one, but it sure is true... LMAO at "pancake crawl"....hahahahaaa! |
What if you buy and xpen and get one of those covers for it so he cannot climb out and then put a piece of vinyl under it and twisty tie the vinyl around the bottom so he cannot get to the floor...I use an xpen but mine are not escape artists...Wish I could help more....And shouldn't your pet deposit cover what he destroys, not your other deposit...:( |
They can squeeze through very small spots you would be amazed as Im sure you are. |

2 Attachment(s) I have an Xpen with a lid for Cooper and I took a piece of plywood and cut it to fit exactly inside the floor of the xpen. then I went to the local carpet and vinyl store and they sold me a piece of remnant vinyl for 5 bucks that was cut to fit the plywood perfect. I glued the vinyl to the plywood with carpenters caulking. I then used an old plastic table cloth on my rug first. they the plywood, then placed the xpen over top of that. I put his toys, bed *small Crate with door propped open and pee pads and water dish in there. He has his own little condo. THE floor is slightly raised and inside the pen so he cannot "dig" himself out because the plywood is too strong and I clip the lid down with carribiner rings so they are easy for me to get in but not for him to figure out how to open. Here are a couple of pictures: Good luck. |

My guess is under, too. You need to buy a Web cam and we can all take turns monitoring it! |
