| Chewie has OFFICIALLY blown my mind!!! We have 2 standard baby gates blocking the entrance into the living room from the hallway stacked one on top of the other (see pics in my photobucket link below). Total height is about 5 feet tall. There is literally about 1 1/2 inches of space from the bottom of the bottom gate to the carpet (see photos). PLEASE someone tell me...how the H*** did Chewie escape??? I got home and he met me at the door! No one lives here but me! Surely he couldn't have squeezed himself down to 1 1/2 inches tall and scooted under that friggin gate??!!! They were both still fully intact as I left them this morning. You gotta see these pics.. Also, for your viewing pleasure...pics of where my carpet was even more destroyed today I'm at my whits end....what do I do? Crate him for 15 hours? knc1980cec/Mayhem and Destruction - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

| Chewie is so cute! Look at the precious little face I will bet my life he is climbing that contraption like a circus act! The post that I just looked at before this one was the exact same thing minus the chewing of the carpet. Last week someone else posted about this too. I'm so sorry cute, precious Chewie (repeat often) is making you lose your mind. My suggestion would be to get some plexiglass and attach it with Zip ties to the gate. Unless he has wings we will not be able to get over the gate then. You poor thing, I feel for you~~Take a deep breath and grab a

| Beer sounds GOOD!!!! Too bad I have to go 2 towns over to get some .... Plexiglass is a great idea the only problem is...I eventually get home and have to disassemble this whole catastrophe of gates... Any recommendations on how I should attach the plexiglass in a way that's removable? By the way....my luck....I BET he has wings!!!!!

| I think he's definitely climbing the gates. I would worry he might get injured jumping down 5 ft. though. My yorkie kept climbing out of her play yard so I turned it upside down, lol. Cute baby! |

| I watched my Cora at the age of 3 mths and about 1lb, get her nails and tiny little paws just like a kitty and climb the couch. Oh yeah, he's climbing!! |

| I just bought the 2nd gate last night so since the verdict seems like it's leaning more towards him scaling the gate, he's only jumped over once. He seems absolutely fine. For the time being, I'll see if I can find a bed sheet and wrap it around the gates so the surface is smoother and he can't get his nails in the lattice part to climb. I'm curious to see what other suggestions you guys have I'm trying to calm down...it just seems like one thing after another...the main part that I'm upset about is the carpet. I have totally lost my deposit on this apartment. Pee can be cleaned...carpet ripped to shreds...I'm just plain screwed.

Twist ties.. but make the tie on your side.. not his.. so he won't chew on the ends. Drill little holes in the plexiglass so you can stick them through.

There is also a gate you can buy that has the plexiglass already built in but when you read the reviews it does not seem very sturdy.

I Love My Babies Donating Member | How about a gate with vertical slats instead of mesh? The plexiglass may be cheaper.. but it is another idea.

| I was looking at the way they are designed and I think I would have the plexiglass cut to fit inside of the frame (2 seperate pieces) so that way you will still be able to take the gate down. Bobbi~we must have been posting at the exact same time

No Longer a Member | Lower the gate to as low as it will go to the floor, You would be surprised how flat they can get to crawl under. Can you act like you leave and watch him thru a window to see what he does? |
