| Health Q Just wondering if anyone has delt with this situation before... My 1 yr old yorkie, Buddy, paces a lot. I let him outside to use the bathroom and I guess maybe thats a sign that he needs to go out but he does it CONSTANTLY. Round and round he paces the livingroom. Could something be wrong with him? Right now he eats Maximum dry dog food mixed with mighty dog wet food. I live in a crummy little town so Walmarts about the only place Ive got to buy food. Anyway, maybe his diet isnt good.. I just want him to be happy and healthy. Also, does anyone on here put their dog in their crate to sleep in? When we got Buddy I felt like a crate was mean but after a week of constant barking I tried it and that made him feel safe. Well, one year later and he still goes into his crate to sleep at night. I feel bad that he is confied to that little spot but Buddy is mean and would destroy my livingroom if left out. Anyone eles crate their dog at night time? |

| I have always crated my babies at nite time. The crate is their own special bed and they like it. I also crate them when I take a nap. All I have to do for my older babies is say "time for bed" and they are in their crate befor I get to my room! Of course their crates are IN my room, at the foot of my bed.

I always crate mine at night. i started it right away because I knew I would have to separate them when the females are in heat. So everyone goes in their crate at night. Only Chachi minds it, The rest just walk right in. For Chachi, I have to carry him and put him in. | |

| At what age did he start going round and round constantly? Does he ever walk into walls, get lethargic, lose his appetite, press his head against a solid object, tilt his head way up after eating? I'm sure it can be behavioral but there is a possibility it is medical.

| Sorry its taken me so long to re-post. Thanks for the replies, too. My biggest wish is to find Buddy a good quality food, in process. Anyway, I think the pacing thing is "i want to go outside" because hes paces in the livingroom and goes to the door and back, door and back.. then when I open the door he goes outside. He doesn't bump into anything or lay his head down. Just constantly moving. When he naps on the couch he doesn't lay down long. Sometimes I tell my husband he barely sleeps and "plots" on us all night long, lol. We got him when he was 5 months old. Ive been looking at other posts on the best dog food, but honestly they don't sell that stuff around here. thanks again for the help! |
