New mommy needs some help, PLEASE!!! I've caught my Yorkie eating his own feces on three different occasions in the past 24 hours. How do I get him to stop? He's also constantly sneezing. My boyfriend guesses that it's the carpet causing him to have allergies, but the puppy wasn't sneezing this much when I brought him home last week. The easiest thing to do would be to take him to the vet, but are there any cheaper alternatives? We just went to the vet 3 days ago, and he was fine then. Thanks!

| It's not uncommon for them to eat their own feces. I don't know why, but I just pick it up as soon as they make the mess and that is the end of it. Sneezing sounds like allergies. How old is your puppy? You can give a little Benadryl for allergies, but I'd be very careful if you have a young puppy. Better to see the vet than make a mistake. Good luck.

You can get something to put in his food so his poop won't taste good to him. Also, just pick it up quickly. He will probably outgrow it, too. I think sneezing is pretty common and nothing to worry about unless it's constant. If it's really often, I'd get him checked out by a vet.

Four Paws Potty Mouth Tablets is one of the cures I found at petco.com- our yorkies did the same thing- vet said it's not harmful but it does leave them smelling quite disgusting- she gave us a packet of basically the same stuff crushed up to sprinkle on their food and it worked right away- i'd go to the pet store and see what they have or search online to see if there's anything you could use that's already in your home

The stuff we got from our vet was "For-bid" or something to that effect - I think it was like 30-50 cents a packet. We picked up a couple, followed the directions, within a few days no more poop eating.
