Greetings from NY! Hello everyone! I'm new to the boards but not new to Yorkies! I received my first yorkie at the age of 5 years old, it was a gift for my brother and I from my grandmother. This yorkie, Buddy, lived the the grand old age of 19, after cancer took it's toll. Buddy lived an almost healthy life, only having ear problems and back problems... although Bud's body aged, his mentality didn't and he though he could do things a puppy could do. Buddy's photo taken a few months ago: http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/a...DSC_0010-1.jpg After we lost Buddy, I lost it. It was quite a hard year for me and this was just adding insult to injury. I didn't know what I was going to do without a dog! With great debate, my mother finally caved in. We did our research on where we could get our new pooch. Without a doubt it had to be a Yorkie, my mother and I are both allergic and the dog needs to be hypoallergenic. Last week, we came home with our 10 week old puppy Niles. As you can see from the photo of his one floppy ear, he's teething: http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/a...het/niles4.jpg

How old is your sister's yorkie? I've read that the ear will turn back to normal when he's done teething, if not I should "tape it." I'm not too worried about the floppy ear yet.

oh, my sisters yorkie is a couple of years old and he has had that floppy ear since almost the beginning but she never taped his ears and I think she finds it endearing.
