| Yes...another size question! But I'm concerned with this comment! Rowdy and I went to PetSmart last night for a meet and greet with the trainer. I was questioning whether or not I wanted to do the PetSmart thing, but the trainer is SUPER professional and very experienced. All the dogs that are signed up in our class right now are small..the biggest is a 11 week Cocker. This made me feel a little better about doing it! I was really nervous about the possiblity of a pittbull (or other BIG dog) being in his class, but she said she tries to match the size of the dog to the class as much as she can. OK now what bothered me a little bit.... She knew that the size factor was a huge concern for me, and she said "He's not any smaller than some of the other dogs" Which I knew...there's a chi and a maltese in the class also. What bothered me was she said he's going to be a big boy. Now I'm not against bigger yorkies at all, but we travel a lot with our guys and Champ is the perfect size for us at 5.5 lbs. She says she think Rowdy will be about 10lbs! He's 2 lbs 7 oz at 12 weeks. Is that big? Another guy that works there said he thought he was kinda of big for 12 weeks also. I know he's not tiny, but I didn't think he was big. She also told me that you are supposed to double the weight at 6 MONTHS for an idea of adult weight! From what everyone says on here it's double at 12 weeks (and some say add 1lb). That would make him about 6lbs! Is the 6mth thing for larger breeds or something?? As always, sorry for the longwindedness (is that a word??) |

| According to my chart, both your dogs should be approximately the same size. I think you double the weight at 12 weeks, not six months. My girls both stopped growing at six months.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | There really is no way to tell, it is all a guess really. The double the weight at 12 weeks seems to be the closest thing but I have a guy that weighted 4+ lbs at 12 weeks and is 16 lbs now. My Chelsey who is two weighted 3+ lbs at 12 weeks and is 5.3 lbs now. That being said our big 16 lb Teddy can fit in a bag and be really quiet and travels well. While Chelsey is a wiggler! Teddy is easier to take in a bag somewhere just heavier!

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | It all depends on when they actually stop growing! No one can actually predict it correctly! Jaxon weighed 2lbs 2 oz. at 4 1/2months & my vet thought he wouldn't get any bigger than 3 1/2lbs. He is now 4yrs old & weighs 6lbs. He doesn't look it, he is very short-just compact!!!

| It doesn't sound like he will be 12 lbs. My yorkie was 6 lbs at 6 months, and he is now 11 lbs at 4 yrs of age. He is not overweight at all.

| I personally don't think your baby will be over 6 pounds...The growth chart on here may not be accurate for everyone though...Pixie was probably under 1lb 8oz at 12 weeks old as I didn't get her until she was 14 weeks old and she was 1lb 8oz when she came to me...so doubling that weight would make her around 3lbs as an adult....well....she is just under 3lbs at 14 months old!

| I think mine is going to be bigger than we all thought, including the Breeder. She said he would be around 5lbs, in her opninion. He was 1 lbs 8 ozs at 8 weeks. I bought him at 14 weeks. and she said he was 2lbs. took him for his vet visit 2 days later and he was actually 3 lbs 8 ozs. Almost twice what she said he was. |

| Chip was 2.6 lbs when we brought him home at 7.5 weeks old. He's now only 8 lbs.
