I named my little boy Pasquale. My family is 100% Italian...so i felt coming into a huge italian family..it was only fitting he would have an italian name also. My entire family laughs when i tell them what his name is. |
Corabella Fire Monkey....I know, weird, I just call her Cora |
Gizmo-because when we got him he looked like the little furry animal on the movie Gremlins. Tenci-the people at the pet store called her Wenci, so I named her Tenci Wenci. Trouble-because we got him with out asking my husbands "permission", so we thought it would be trouble. Chip & Gus were named when we got them. |
My little baby is named Ben. He is named after Ben Roslethberger, the Quarter back for the Pittsburgh Steelers. DB's idea, but its cute and it fits him :) |
Bear Bear was because she stood up like a bear and grew up to have a bear attitude.. Sammie Sam is Samantha because she is so prim and proper.. Sebastian it seemed to be a Gentlemans name and he was a gentleman until he was aound his daddy to long... |
My Yorkies names are Onni - there is a tiny girl in our church named Ani and I loved the name. I decided to spell it differently so as not to offend anyone. :D My Onni is also tiny. She is better known as "Princess Onni" :D Bonnie - We just got Bonnie and she is 4 years old, so we will keep her name. I have 4 other dogs Mikey - my Jack Russell baby Neo - our German Shephard - named after the guy in the movie the Matrix Sunny - named after the lady we got her from (rescue blue heeler/ rott mix) Matilda - a rescue lab mix. We just really like the name. |
What a fun post. I love seeing how our babies got their names. Boo is my husbands dog. He is a 5 yr old rescue and came to us with the name Alex, which soooo didn't fit him. :p As we were driving home from picking him up DH said, "I think I'll call him Boo." It fit, it stuck and best of all Boo likes it and came when called it from the very beginning. I think he answered to it so quickly because he heard me saying we should name him Wasabi  and he didn't like that name so much. :D I love the way that word just rolls off your tongue. But I guess Boo didn't want to be named after a Japanese condiment. :p:rolleyes: Gracie Ruth was a work in progress. I had a week to wait before getting her and I had several names in mind. Emma, Pebbles, Pixie, Gracie. I waited until I actually got her and spent some time with her before settling on Gracie, the Ruth part just followed one day. She was not listening and I said in a very mommy voice, "Gracie Ruth you better listen to me right now!" And Gracie Ruth it's been since then. The dog I had before Annie B was a fabulous Rat Terrier who was my true soul mate. She was a born and bred Texan so she absolutely needed more then one name. Her's was Sadie Mae Ann Louise. And let me tell you, she surly knew when she heard the whole name she better come running with I'm so sorry kisses ready. |
My 3 year old baby's name is Saki |
My fur baby was named Clare by the breeder....I wanted to name her Paris...but she was so sickly on the trip home that Paris just did not suit her..when I got her home, my adult kids decided her name would be KiKi and we kept Clare as her middle name ..she is registered as KiKi Clare.... |
Just Brownie! |
I have 3 yorkies. Bijou is my oldest yorkie...he'll be 4 in Novemeber. His registered name is 'Le Beau Petite Bijou" which means "beautiful tiny gem" which is what he is!:) Jester was 1 in February. His registered name is "Le Beaut Petite Jester". Little he is not! He now weighs 9.3 lbs.! LOL! He is definately my clown boy. Frankie is 5 mos. old. I haven't gotten around to registering him yet...but Frankie is definately the right name for him...he's my little "gansta'"!:) Then I have Holly...my long-haired chihuahua yorkie wanna be. She was abandoned in the middle of the road in the middle of the night in the middle of winter shortly before Christmas. Her name is Holly Angel for obvious reasons!:) |
Legacy and Impreza were both named after cars for two reasons. The first being their mother is named Mercedes. The second being Legacy is the car I want to get soon and Impreza is the car Mike wants to have. |
Pebbles~she was a resuce and her original name was RubySue but my daughter insisted we change it Doodlebug~I really liked the name Doodles and told my kids we could call him Dude but when we brought him home he was such a little bug I started calling him Doodlebug and that is now the only name he will answer to |
My puppy's name is Mojo from the Door's song, LA Woman. :note2: Mr. Mojo Risin' :note: as Jim Morrison sings it. Mojo is also a voodoo good luck charm and I'm hoping my Mojo will be my good luck charm, :) . I listen to music all the time, particularly classic rock, and I'm always singing, so I wind up naming most of my animals after songs I like. My name on YT, Jokerman, is from a Bob Dylan song and is my Arabian gelding's name who I've raised from birth. I sometimes think I was crazy to name him that as he is too much of a Joker sometimes! I didn't have a Yorkie when I joined YT, so I used my horse's name. |
My yorkie's name is Wall-E after the Pixar movie. That's the movie that we watched the same day we picked him out of the litter. His original name was Toby, but we changed it to Wall-E to commemorate the day we met him! Also, my husband is a big Disney fan so it made him happy to name our first puppy after a Disney-Pixar character. |
