| ![]() I pretty much brought it up every single chance i got ( which ended up being about every other word i said...lol) until eventually he got surprised me with Luc, just so i would stop whining! lol. But it did take a solid week of me calling him at least twice a day at work saying things like "did you see the picture i sent you, isn't he so cute.. " and "please, please, please, please... why not!"... and i also told him he would never have to buy me another thing ever again.. but he saw right through that lie almost immediately. But now he loves Lucas as much as I do. ![]() |

| ![]() This is what worked for me: We had been together 14 years on July 21st, we always celebrate our 'anniversary'. Our wedding anniversary is September 11th. My birthday is in October. I told him that the puppy could be my present for all three of those. Also.... I did a little extra persuading. ![]() ![]() He made a heck of a deal. lol |

| ![]() I told Jimmie I had a hole in my heart that only a little puppy could fill. My dtr was out of the house and married and not planning to have grandkids for me for a while.

| ![]() Do what I always do and just bring it home. My husband didn't want half the animals we have but he deals with it. He will get over it.

| ![]() My husband learned a long time ago...if I want it then I WILL get it....so he doesn't even bother to put up a fuss about it! Of course even though he loves the dogs (and horses and goat and turtle and cat) as much as I do...they belong to me, and are my responsibility. That means that I am in charge of all feeding, watering, cleaning up after, vet costs, etc.

| ![]() This might be not the nicest way but when I really want something and I know we might disagree on weather or not it is necessary I bring it up to him like it is fact or going to happen I am really nice and carefull about the words I use. For instance, I would tell him I have to run to the store and pick up a few harnesses because I know the ones I have will not work for the new puppy. Or hey babe I am going to make dinner early on tues. because I am meeting so and so to pick up my new baby but I will have it on low for when you get home ![]() ![]()

| ![]() My daughter wanted another dog so she sent her husband a text message every hour with a photo of the dog....he finally gave it. For me I just cry, beg, pled, promise, anything till I get what I want and if by chance that doesn't work, I pull this is my house and I will get it. Oh, my new little girl that is coming in 11 days is a surprise...we'll see how that one goes. I am using the excuse that I am babysitting for a sick friend and then after she is here for a few weeks, I'll come up with some reason why she can't go home and he will let me keep her. Oh, I just let him buy his big screen TV so I'll get her without any problem. |

| ![]() Tell him, "wouldn't it be greast to have anther male around the house?" make it seem like this will benifit him the most, and tell him he can choose the name! ![]()

I Love Thor Donating Member | ![]() LOL. This is what my mom taught me! Although I'd be scared to try it on my BF! Try a trade off... Also, it's not his decision. You guys are a couple, and make decisions together. He shouldn't have final say. I guess if you bring one home you're the decider then...Hummm...DO WHATEVER IT TAKES!!! Good luck! |

| ![]() My mom always said, "its easier to ask for forgiveness, than to ask for permission" ![]() I'd try a compromise, let him get something he wants (new golf clubs, boat, whatever!) OR I'd buy the dog as a present for HIM ![]() |
