What is your Yorkie afraid of? As silly as this sounds, my 3-yo Daisy is afraid of flies! But only in the house. I've found her trembling in fear and hiding in the corner. It's worse if she's sees me shoo one away and heaven forbid I attempt to swat one. The other night, a mosquito followed us in the house and came buzzing around my head and I swatted at it. She immediately started trembling and took quite a while to recover. She's never been stung by a bee or even a mosquito that I know of. I have yet to figure out how to keep flies out of the house. One got in this afternoon and she's still a little guarded. My 6-yo Sampson on the other hand has only one fear. Smoke. As in, I no longer use the broiler. Other than that he's fearless and lives up to his name. He loves to patrol the yard at night for "intruders." Outdoors on hikes he has more of a leap first attitude. So what silly things is your Yorkie afraid of? |
Mine is afraid of the most random things. Today Bailey barked profusely at a harmless sack of potatoes, yet she doesn't fear the vacuum cleaner. She is a little afraid of bigger dogs esp. when they bark. So far that's pretty much it that I have noticed. |
Myah is afraid of the vaccume and the broom and mop. Guess the means I don't have to clean;) |
Pebbles is not afraid of anything. I'm pretty sure a 500 lb gorilla :monkey: is hiding inside of my teapot! Doodlebug is still a baby and really hasn't developed anything that he is afraid of yet. It probably doesn't hurt his big sister is pretty fearless. :animal36 |
When we are in the car, Annie is afraid of the big semi trucks if they pass us in traffic. Not afraid of bugs...they should be afraid of her !! When we find a roach she loves to help me "flush" him away...she barks as he disappears down the drain. |
Marla, good thread to start!! Winston is not really afraid of anything I know of except for the times that I start getting makeup etc ..getting ready to go somewhere. He will shake then , but that is the only time I notice it. Oh I guess I need to add the car too, but I am confused about that one. He always wants to go, but crys and shakes a little while we are driving. |
Bernie is fearless. But on the other hand, Baxter is scared of....his reflection in the sliding door glass, I'm sure he thinks someone is outside; lightening; thunder; the alarm system beeping; the garage door closing; the dishwasher; the washing machine; the car, deathly afraid to ride in the car; the vaccuum cleanier; the blow dryer; the Wahl; having his nails clipped; his bath....should I stop? It would be easier to tell you what he's not afraid of! He's coming around though. Some of those things he's not soooo afraid of now. |

This is a great thread... Cooper is afraid of the commercial on TV for Suave shampoo when the lady sings in an Opera type voice. The words are written in pink and says something like : Is Motherhood wrecking your Hair?" He will come from the other room just running and bark at the TV. it is just too funny. He also barks at his reflection in the black refridgerator at my dads house. He doesn't do it at home just at my dads. Quite funny. Love to read all their quirks. they really are so much company. |
Love this thread... Gracie isn't afraid of anything....she thinks she weighs 200 lbs, with just as big of an attitude. :D |
Leo is afraid of the "glug glug glug", sound that his water dish makes when refilling! |
Shyasha is afraid of going outside in the daylight. But , as soon as it gets dark she is like a bolt of lightning going out the door. Odd,huh? |
Bobby is afraid of the alarm clock. I switched off the buzzer and tried the radio but he still freaks out. He is also afraid when my hubby or stepson is leaving with a backpack, not sure why only when they have a bag, but he will jump on the edge of the couch and try to protect me. It doesn't seem to bother him when i have a bag, he actually gets excited because he thinks he is going for a ride. Those are the only two things that are constant, sometimes on our walks he gets a little skiddish when he hears unfamiliar noises. |
Both are scared of the vaccume. Duke wont go anywhere near it even if it's turned off haha. Duke also barks at just about any sound. The cat can jump onto the floor and if he hears it he starts yapping away. Lucie's ready to pounce on anything that moves I swear she is part cat:rolleyes: Though she was barking insanely at my hair clip the other night haha |
Bailey stays clear when the fridge is open - something might fall out! Otherwise, she is the fearless bug hunter!! |
Gracie is afraid of linoleum. I guess it is slippery and she does not like it one bit. Gracie and Holly are both afraid of the vacuum cleaner and the carpet cleaner. |
Gustus Is afraid of the car wash when we drive through and he does not like the truck airconditioner on high that scares him ! He is also afraid of men so I got rid of my boyfriend and keep the ac on low and hold him real tight and cover his ears in the car wash ;) |
Daisy doesn't like the broom, mop, duster, vacum or anything that makes a lot of noise. Maybe I should give up cleaning ;) Abby jumps at loud noises, but otherwise, she's my brave one. |

Fritzel is deathly afraid of Newspaper. If I just pick it up he runs. I have never even yelled at him, I have certainly never threatened him with the paper. So I know someone must have hit him with newspaper before. He is also afraid of people except me and my husband. Darla is afraid of sudden loud noises. |
Elvis is afraid of car rides, starts out shaking and panting. Eventually he just pants. |

Mommy's prissy girl is really a tomboy @heart......she's not scared of much. She's not afraid of the vacuum....tries to play. The hairdryer....ok, so when my DH used the leaf blower, she tried to play! She is however afraid of the pressure mounted wooden gate in the kitchen door only when we try to step over, because it has fallen on the ceramic tile & you know how LOUD that would sound!:( Never forgets!!:( |

I only know of one thing all three are afraid of and that is when I pick up a fly swater. They don't like the slapping noise it makes I guess. Since the living room slinder was open all day because the guy laying the wood flooring has to go in and out to saw, we got a couple of flys. I picked up the swater and killed a fly but when I turned around, Zada and Razael were in their beds shaking and Azrael was wedged between the expen and their bed. It was so sad. |

Phoebe is only afraid of two things...smoke and horses. I didn't realize why she was freaking out in the kitchen till I realized it's only when the girls burn the french bread or toast or something. This fear was confirmed when we went camping and tried to have her sit on my lap by the campfire....she was terrified...boohooo...so i had to put her to bed early, away from the smoke. She always acts curious about the horses (she's in my arms of course) but then when they bring their huge noses over, she tries to climb out of my arms. Guess I don't blame her on either of those fears! I'd be afraid of agiant nose too! deb |
afraid of compressed air cans lol :animal-pa |
:p I would have to say the fly swatter also. I have hit the fly swatter against the back of the kitchen chair to settle them all down. But now if I pick it up to actually hit a fly with it, they all run into their beds in the bedroom. Poor babies. I think it's the noise it makes on the chair that scares them. Raindrop really makes me feel bad, because she is so little and I scared her. :( I have to go hug her and tell her it\'s ok. :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa |
Bubba is afraid of thunder and the vacuum, he\'s such a woos. Sissy on the other hand is afraid of nothing. |
