| She's adorable. She looks like she can be trained to me. If only you could stay home with her all day!

| Hard to train I have two yorkies, Jazzi and Willie. Jazzi is 3, Willie is 6 and have had them since puppies. Living in Canada, in the winter I put the pads down and they often use them....often don't! They won't stay out long enough to finish and it is too cold for them to be out anyway. They ruined one carpet and now I leave the hardwood floor bare, much better. Honestly, yorkies are almost impossible to completely train I think; have done everything. It is getting much rarer that they do something in the house. Good luck. |

| I understand all about it, my Ivy is from a puppy mill and I'm having a hard time also. I put her in my mudroom and she pooped in their and then ran all over it and made a mess I can't tell you how bad it was I'm home now because it's summer but I will have to go back to work when school starts up again and I'm not looking forward to that. But it has gotten a little better maybe it will take a little more time then if they were puppies?? So I'll be looking at any ides anyone has also. Also the lady from the rescue kind of yelled at me about letting Ivy get away with so much because she came from a mill. She said she still needs to learn how to behave in our home

| Perhaps its the same rule as discipline with a child. Be stern and strict and the child will benefit and actually respect and love you more? I know what you mean, because being stern is not something that I can easily do. One of my friends has many dogs and she is very stern with hers. They are LGD's and enormous! as I have two also that stay in the pasture and barn with the goats but I still am not as stern as I know she is but she insists that I do need to be more in charge. I dont know..Just not in my makeup. But she may have been able to have Marley housebroken by now too..I dont know. |

| Hang in there both of you. I'm still hoping someone will come along with experience in potty training a puppymill rescue.

They are assuming Marleys age to be around 8. I went to a rescue in Prague Oklahoma and looked at about 50 dogs there and she was under a tarp with another Yorkie boy that was very energetic and spunky and squirmy! lol..She was timid and a little shy and looked so sad that I just reached down and picked her up and that was that. I actually went there with 2 other non yorkies in mind... But it was meant to be... | |
