| You'll want to bath your new baby as soon as you see need to. They have already been bathed before you get them (hopefully/surely). You'll want to make sure not to get water in their ears. I use a washcloth on the face. Make sure the pup doesn't catch a chill and is dried thoroughly without being burned. They are sensitive just as a human baby is. ENJOY!!!!

| When I got Duke, the breeder told me they had given him a bath and that he shouldn't need one for another couple weeks. So I bathed him probably 3 weeks or so after I got him. When I got Lucie, the breeder had finished bathing her as I got there, but she smelled really funky, I don't even know if they used shampoo on her or anything she smelled so bad, so I bathed her like the second day I had her. I don't take either of them to be groomed anywhere, too many horror stories for me, so I do it all on my own.

| I took Lucy to the groomer when she was 13 weeks. She did great! Just make sure your pup's had shots so she doesn't catch anything from the other animals there.

| I would say bathe them when they need it but not too often. As far as grooming, I would recommend taking a pup any where but to the vets until they have had a complete series of shots.

| I start bathing my puppies at 6 weeks and bathe them weekly after that. If you wait too long they will put up a terrible fuss. I do my own grooming when they get their weekly bath. I just finished with 8 baths, brush and blow dry. |

| Hi..I started bathing our first yorkie Shasta when we adopted her and she was nine weeks. Mica was 14 weeks and I have bathed her weekly since the day I got her. I also do my own grooming and tend to clip her nails. trim her ears and paws each week. It seems easier to keep grooming up that way and helped her to get used to regular grooming much better. I know that our breeder had been bathing them though prior to us adopting them but I never did ask at exactly what age they started. I imagine some of the breeders here on YT would know the answer to that quesion. |

| bathing my puppy Hi everyone! We just added another beautiful yorkie to our family. Her name is Koko and she is a little over 2 mos old. It's her 3rd day today and we bathe her when we got her home. Just the body and we wiped her face with a moist towel. We have a trusted groomer we take our other yorkie to but due to the economy we've been doing the grooming ourselves. My Kiwi, almost 7yo, is a bundle of joy when it comes to bathing.

| When I went and picked up Mr. Darcy from breeder, she bathed him right there in front of me. I give him a bath every couple of weeks - unless he has been a 'mucky puppy' and needs one sooner!!! I groom him myself. Many moons ago I worked at a dog groomer salon. So I have always groomed my own dogs - poodles and chow chows before I got Toffee, my first Yorkie and now Mr.Darcy. I am even 'barber' to my husband!!!! (although he doesn't have much to work with anymore!!)

| The 2nd day I had Jackson home he got a bath. He had that puppy-stink smell, hehe. He got professionally groomed for the first time at around 4 1/2 months old!

| i bathed my pup for the first time at 14 weeks (the same day i got her). i was nervous that she would freak out and i shut the bathroom door and was prepared for a struggle. to my surprise, she just stood there - she was such a darling! since then i have given her a bath every other day (literally) and she just stands there. of course the first time when she was so good i praised her like no other - saying, "good girl. you're such a good girl." giving her a bath is easier than bathing my kids! |

| just to add - i do bathe my pup every other day because she goes outside to potty. with the rain, she stinks to high heaven when she gets wet! it hasn't been a problem for her being bathed every other day. |
