you could try having the nail clippers out but not actually using them........ just to get her used to the sight of them,,.... adn then work up from there

Thanks Christi and Orinskye! It really is a hard thing. I brush her teeth every day, and wash out her eyes and brush her. I keep the clippers by the sink and everyday when I do the above, I hold her paw and touch the clippers to it. Thinking the same thing, that she would get use to it. I have both the clippers and the guilloitine one and the sissors type ones that I used on my birds. She just won't hold still for it at all. God help me! Never in all of the dogs I've had have I had a dog that reacts like this. Maybe in time? Last night she was completely out on my lap, and I was rubbing her paws, and picked up the clippers and---ZOOM RIGHT AWAKE AND JUMPED OFF THE CHAIR! What a Brat!
