I am glad you guys are ok over there! I saw that there have been aftershocks too Those are always scary. I did not feel anything here where I am in the Valley. But, we have had them from the San Adreas fault.

Glad it sounds like all my SoCal friends are ok.

I was driving home on the freeway when the quake hit, and it threw me onto the shoulder of the road. I thought I'd had a blow-out, but when I saw 2 other vehicles pulling to the side of the road, and 1 man actually got out and walked around his car to check his tires, I knew it was NOT likely that we'd ALL had a blow-out at the same time! That's when I heard the breaking news on the radio. When I got home, we had broken oil and vinegar bottles all over the kitchen, living room, and dining room floors (those bottles with fruits and veggies in them that you sit out in the kitchen for decoration...and MAN...the glass flew everywhere). I finally got all the glass cleaned up (I HOPE) and cleaned the floor with bleach where the dyed oil had stained the floor, but the house REEKED of vinegar!!!! It's finally going away now. The salt water from the fish tank (a 240-gallon tank) went all over the carpet and nearby furniture, and it actually moved the heavy wooden top cabinet piece OFF the edge of the fish tank...crazy! We still have a LOT of stuff knocked over, thrown out of place, drawers open, etc., but I'm working on getting all that straightened up before I go to bed. The girls were going crazy when I got home (luckily I was on my way home anyway when it hit), and a bunch of stuff had fallen off the shelves in their room too. Luckily it's all small stuff and Hello Kitty stuffed animals, so nothing that can hurt them! Mapquest says we're less than 5 miles from the epicenter, so our damage could've been much worse!! This was my first experience with an earthquake, and hubby tells me to be glad I was driving because I would've been FREAKING OUT had I been at home to really "feel" it. He knows me so well!!!

Oh my Lisa, so glad things weren't awfully bad. We had a big major jolt and then rolling quakes for several minutes after here in Redlands. I was on the phone with a gf who lives in Fontana--she was telling me that they had just had an earthquake--when we felt it in our house--she hadn't finished her sentence yet. My dogs began to bark just before we felt the quake--they are more sensitive than humans are.

Glad everyone is ok.

I know my little ones went crazy too and we live in San Diego

My puppy was just standing and looking around during the earthquake be started barking right after

That was pretty powerful though
It actually scared me, even though I've been through many earthquakes, this one started off "normal" but 5 seconds later it felt like someone just kicked the house and everything went wild.

Phone services went off everywhere though so no one could make calls or receive calls except if they wanted to call 911...
Never went through something like that.

That is so scary! I am so glad everyone is okay, they said on the news that it may be a warning for a larger one, hopefully that's not true but i would prepare just in case. I would be soo freaked out, especially since there are only buildings here, what is one to do, run out in the street? I don't know what i would do seriously, also since i have 3 babies to look after, i think my first instinct would be to scoop them all up in one arm if i can and run somewhere safe, but what's safe during an earthquake?? Anyway i am so happy no one is hurt!

I can't even imagine what going through an earthquake must be like. I am glad to hear everyone is okay.

I saw this on TV. Glad you two are ok. If this had been Mika she would have been rattled for weeks. She'd blame it on the couch and probably never get back on it. She had a knack for remembering everything except where to go potty. LOL

I felt nothing here.

Glad everyone is okay, it could've been a lot worse! Must be very scary to a Yorkie!

I'm glad you guys are OK. THose aftershocks were scary too!

I was listening to WLS (major Chicago talk radio station) and they were interviewing Bob Barker because he was here talking to the city council members about mandatory spay and neutering in Chicago. Anyway, he hadn't heard about the quake and got kinda shaken. He got off the air so he could call home. He was so worried about his dogs!

yeah there were aftershocks till like 3am last night..
i haven't checked to see how many there were since then.. but alot of them we couldn't feel.. there were only a couple that we could & they were just little jolts. The aftershocks we really felt were shortly after the first quake! no fun!!

So glad you were able to get home to the babies right away!! and glad they were safe in their cozy lil room
