| that is so mean and rude I dont know if i would have said anything either, but I would honestly hate to know that someone thought of my dog as a rat-like in any way. Your dog is beautiful, don't listen to him. |

| When someone calls one of my CHILDREN a rat, I just sigh and snottily say, "Well my rat cost more than your car" Yes snotty, but it makes me feel better (and its even better when its true and the person realizes it). Yes, I know snotty and mean, but NO ONE calls my children rats!! |

| Since he was a teacher I think I totally would have complained to someone about him being unprofessional. I know to some people they are "just dogs" and some people, usually guys, don't like little ones and commonly refer to them as rats or kick-me dogs..but when someone takes their child with them to class, a teacher wouldn't be allowed to say something like that...It's just rude. Some people have no manners..

| I agree, if he is a teacher, he needs to keep comments like that to himself, better yet, not have that attitude at all! He is responsible for forming the lives of children. If he can harbor predjudices like that, what is he passing along to innocent children? I would seriously consider talking with the vice principal or someone in a higher position.

| UGH seriously? I would have confronted him, and said, "I can hear you over here, and I realize that you may not like small dogs, and I respect that. However, I think that you are disrespecting ME by the word and actions you're choosing to use." Typically people don't like to be called out on their rude/inconsiderate acts, and he would probably feel really sick in the game had he known you heard what he said. And, of course, I would have talked to him in a tone like he was 5, because that's about how mature he sounds!

| awww, poor little Layla! I agree--men just don't think it's macho to love a little dog. No excuse for what he did thogh. What a jerk. Maybe one day he'll have a wife that gets a little dog and then he'll learn to love them. ![]() How AWESOME is it that you can take your dog to class though?? That's great!

| YT 1000 Club Member | What if your little dog was with you because of a disability you had. Such as some of these dogs are trained to sense when someone was going to have a seizure or something. Not that it matters, he shouldn't disrespect your love for your baby anyway. If he is a teacher and wants to be around kids with special needs he might find himself one day in the company of someone who has a small dog for a special need. How will he react then? This guy needs to show more smarts then he is. |

2nd - that guy is a JERK. We should brush off stuff like that - but him being a teacher makes it that much worse and he was really showing his colors talking like that. People don't have to 'like' ANY dogs as far as I'm concerned...but talking about hurting an animal is just wrong don't let morons get to you girl. It isn't worth your time. even if he didn't mean it or thought he was being funny - he wasn't. | |

| He obviously isn't secure with his own self. Pay no attention to him. He's a jerk and your baby is beautiful.

| People are very mean about small dogs I ve noticed. Usually its men so maybe they have a complex about small things for themselves and they are trying to compensate by taking anger out about a small animal. lol
