Keep in mind that just because a hotel advertises as pet friendly with no fee does not mean they will accept a large group all at once. Most pet friendly hotels have only a handful of rooms they designate for guests with pets. And if they do accept a large group, that pet fee is almost guaranteed to not be free!!!

Megan, I could be wrong about this, but I believe the hotel costs are per room and the registration costs are per person....

The 2008 Meetup hotel cost was $139 per room per night. There was also a $50 pet fee for up to two pets per room, though some members did get that refunded. We believe occupancy was for two people officially, though people may have shared rooms.

The registration fee was $70 to $100 per person, depending on when you registered, which included a group dinner with everyone from the meetup as well as a continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.

I wish! But I'm a broke college student. I wouldn't have the money. Virginia is just too far. I guess I'll have to wait for 2011, when it's in the Midwest again.
