We don't have much of a problem. Mister Bear just lays around, not very affectionate, rescue dog. Cosannah is hubby's first priority and Lida is mine. When we come in, if he doesn't say hi to Cosie first, she pouts. If I don't say hi to Lida first (Hi being picked up and kisses) she throws a royal fit! Our girls will usually go to whoever doesn't have someone, but on occassion Cosie will growl at Lida and Lida will bark back. I gently scold them in an affectionate way and do the 'baby talk thing', before long they are happy! Don't let 'jealousy' issues bother you though or deter you, I find that the company they give each other more than makes up! It's great when they do play together, Cosie is older and doesn't really want to play much, but she is getting better and Lida just loves it! |
OK- I am starting to get a little nervous!! Luigi is 11 monthes now. The rescue we possibly may get (but pretty hopeful we are!!!!) is a male who is 1 yr and 3 monthes! I had described Luigi's personality to them, and they think they will get along just fine. The rescue has a very simiale personality as Luig! They both are followers. The rescue is living with 4 other dogs, 3 of which are males, and he gets along great with them!!! And Luig has gotten along with all the yorkies our friends have!!!! Milo even stayed with us for a week, and Luig loved him!!! So I am hoping they get along great!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed!!! But 1 question though- do you all kepp your 2 or more dogs together when you are gone. Like gated up togethr or seperately gated or in an X-pen!!! |

I have a yorkie and a maltese. When I have Gracie the yorkie on my lap, Sammie, starts barking and wanting up on the sofa. For some reason, Sammie cannot jump up. He can jump 5 feet off and away from the sofa, but he cannot jump up on to the sofa or a bed...Go figure. We just joke and say "white dogs can't jump". Sammie does get jealous but Gracie doesn't mind when I am loving Sammie. |

I love that you said that! My mom's little maltese is 5.5 pounds and for some odd reason she refuses to jump onto the couch, she wants you to put her up there. We were just calling her a little blond, he he. I love white dogs can't jump, I can't wait to tell my mom that. |
My mom says that Sammie does not have to jump because every time he wants something someone picks him up or gets it for him so he doesn't have to. Sammie is almost as large as our Yorkie Gracie and Gracie can and does jump up on anything she can. I have no idea why Sammie won't jump. We have tried bribing him and whatever else we can think of, but he just puts his paws on the bed or sofa and whines until you pick him up. |
perhaps because of my size.... my yorkies dont fight over me ..perhaps because theres more than enough room lol between amys kids and mine well this is how i woke up from my nap in the recliner the afternoon bena was on top of my head paige was under my neck betty was on my hip my moms dog tinker was on my other hip zoom zoom and bailey were in the crook of each knee the only nasty looks i get is when i wake up and want to move HA HA |
Chloe and Lacey have their own kennels, side by side. I think they prefer it that way after being together all day. I know I do because I don't want to be getting up in the middle of the night if they do start fighting. And, they are so very happy to be together in the morning, it is so cute to see them running side by side outside. |
I have a beagle and a yorkie. They have to share everything. I try to buy two of everything, but found out that doesn't work because they have to play with each others toy, chewy, etc. at the same time!! GRRRR! Sometimes I have to take it away an put it up! They are just like kids! |
