He is soon to be 7 months old and weighs 6.5 lbs. Here lately he has become very content to just lie around the house. I am used to him having the zoomies. He used to want to go out into the backyard to run around with his brother. But now he's just so darn lazy. Part of the problem I know is the heat, it's extremely hot outside for him with all that hair. But even inside he's not as active as he used to be. Is it normal for the Yorkie to start settling down around 7 months?

Lily did, after he spay she became a couch potato. She gets up and plays only in the evening when kingston makes her.

Mine settled down alot at 1 yr old

Mine is that way during the hot part of the day, but she loooooooooooves to go for a nice long walk early of a morning before it gets too hot. We also take a walk late of an evening when it is about dark, although, it isn't as cool then. I feel it is important that they get exercise, because it helps keep their organs working properly and keeps them slimmer and in better shape.

All Dogs regardless of their size and Breed need to Walk & Exercise, I walk all 3 of my Yorkie's at least 2 times per day. Once early morning and then late in the Evening when it's cooler. The 2 older ones Artie is 4 yrs. old and Abigail is 3 yrs. old hardly play with me and each other but Pom Pom their daughter is almost 2 yrs. old and she is constantly chasing something or trying to play with her Parents. They love to sleep and Lounge around, especially when we are watching TV. As your Dogs Pack Leader it's up to you to control what & when he does it, it sounds like you need to make more of an effort(no offense
to you) to keep him more active since Yorkie's love to eat, otherwise you will end up with a chunky monkey!

You should try to be more active so he will keep his weight down?
