Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I don't like either her contract or her reservation form but that is my opinion. The contract weighs in her favor--not the puppy's interest. Since you both are in Utah, I would make the effort to visit this breeder. Maybe someone knows this person. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Did you look at the pictures of the sire and dam? Macy's weight is 9 pounds and usually breeders under estimate this weight. I think breeders should breed to standard, and that would be 7 pounds and under, also there are other qualities that from the picture don't look standard. I really believe in only supporting the best breeders, and nothing makes me think they are good breeders. The YTCA recommends that puppies stay with their mother a MINIMUM of 12 weeks.

| By the looks of her most laughable "guarantee", she is only protecting herself. Her dogs are also on the lower end of quality and its extremely funny that she doesnt guarantee show quality. Thats a no-brainer!!LOL I would look elsewhere, maybe a YTCA breeder.

| Does anyone know of a good breeder in Utah? I don't even care if it is a new puppy. I'm just looking for a little girl and I can dress up and love. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | No good breeder would ever let a puppy go before 8 weeks and really 12 weeks is the best time. I agree look elsewhere.

| Please check with one of these breeders from YTCA. If they don't have puppies the can probably lead you to a reputable breeder. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club

Also, I wanted to thank you for coming and asking about the breeder before you purchase your new puppy. If you will read around on this site, you'll see the horror stories from members that have received very sick dogs from bad internet breeders and puppymills. Many wish they had asked first, as you have. Good luck on finding that little girl to dress-up and love! And, you know when you get her - we love pictures here!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I found Joey's breeder from the YTCA website too. I e-mailed and called several of them, until I found one who really filled me with confidence that she first most believed in raising healthy dogs. Her dogs also happen to be beautiful, but that was not my primary concern. I was so happy when we took Joey to his first time vet check-up, and the vet said to me, "Please tell the breeder, she did an excellent job." It's so important to find a breeder whose breeding program is something that you believe in. You won't be sorry.

| Maybe you should consider meeting the breeder and the adult! I feel it is always important to meet people before pre-judging. I feel that it is my right as a breeder to defend myself, my dogs, and my practices. First of all, I only sell Macy's puppies between 6-8 weeks because she weens them around 4 weeks. I would NEVER sell a puppy that wasn't fully weened. My personal vet reccommended that I sell her puppies between 6-8 weeks because that is an important bonding time, and they should bond with their new families during that time. Second, I do protect my buyers and my puppies, and I do everything I can to be honest and upfront. If anyone has any advice to improve my contract, I would love the advice. Macey is a larger yorkie, but she has great "pet-quality" puppies. I have had a lot of clients who are looking for an afforable pet-quality yorkie to have part of their family, and I am able to offer her puppies at an affordable price because she is larger and she has more puppies. I am not trying to mislead anyone. She is a great pet, and we absolutely adore her and her sweet little babies. I have other females that are smaller as well. I have recently invested in some really high quality yorkies so that I can expand my program and offer high quality dogs, but this is at a higher expense to my buyers as well. People who actually know me know that I have great dogs and that I have a lot to offer. I give every buyer the chance to meet the dam, sire, and myself. I even have a pet scale on sight if they want to question their weight. I am a quality breeder, and I do not need to bash on other people to build my own business. So before you listen to people comments who do not even know me..talk to me first! Thanks! |

This is from the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America's Code of Conduct: 8) All puppies leaving the breeders possession will be a minimum of twelve (12) weeks of age to facilitate adequate socialization as well as appropriate emotional and temperament development through interaction with siblings, dam and other dogs. As far as breeding a nine pound female, this is from the YTCA's Code of Ethics: 1) A breeder-member shall strive to conform to the Yorkshire Terrier Standard as approved by the American Kennel Club, to improve progeny, and to reduce faults to a minimum. A "quality" breeder follows the guidelines of the YTCA. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America | |
