| im new! hi yorkie lovers! im new here and wow i have a bunch of things to ask to make sure im on the right path of raising a healthy yorkie (2-yr old BARON). um is innova alright for yorkies? i read somewhere that it had too much protein in it, so i switched to wellness and he doesnt like it as much. oh and do you guys use revolution? for the flea control, etc.. do all you people get annual vaccinations? i feel as if it might not be healthy to keep giving him shots. hmm.. i cant think of any more questions at the moment so i'll leave it as that for now.. thanks for reading! |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Hello and warm welcomes to YT! Mine get shots every 3 years. I don't feel that they need them yearly, some people may differ, so that is just my own opinion. I use AdvantiX on my gang. I use to use Revolution though. My furkids eat Holistic Eagle Pack. I have tried Wellness and a few others and they did not seem to care for it. I hope you post some pics soon of your lil baby! |

| the reason i asked if others use revolution is because i was reading the possible side-effects of it and it included rare instances of death and also been rare reports of seizures in dogs.. |

| Hi Stacy, Welcome to YT!! Would love to see photos of Baron!! I don't give my dogs vaccinations after they are 3 years old, my vet feels like they have enough built up and doesn't believe they need anything besides rabies every 3 years. I don't use any flea meds on my dogs but we don't have many problems with fleas here. As for food, all my babies eat a raw diet. Partially Natural Balance Premade raw and prey model raw. You will learn so much on this site!!

| Welcome to YT! I use Innova small bites, and my babies do great on it! I also just started using Revolution, and so far haven't had a problem. I vaccinate every three years. |

| Welcome to YT! Scooter eats Wellness and loves it, I am sorry your baby didn't bond with it because it truly is a good food. I use Sentinel and Comfortis instead of the other flea/tick/heartgard meds. Scooter got fleas even though I had used Advantix on him. He really tried every time to rub it off and after he got fleas, I went to the vet and asked for something different. Comfortis and Sentinel are pills so it is so easy, and they last all month with one simple pill. As far as shots, I work full time and Scooter goes to daycare once or twice a week because of my schedule. He loves it but you have to stay up on your shots for your dogs to go. He hasn't had any side effects from the shots and he has so much fun at daycare with all his buddies, I couldn't imagine taking that joy away from him. By no means am I recommending going overboard with the shots but my vote is get whatever your vet feels is necessary as it relates to your lifestyle. If you work full time and plan to let your baby go out to daycare to play, go to dog parks, some groomers, etc, it is really important to get shots. This is the best place to ask questions. So many people have experience and really put effort into teaching others. Enjoy it!
