I Need Your Help!!!!
 
My pup just ate some vitamins that fell on the floor and green tea energy pill w/out caffine. What should I give him to make him throw up???

Do you have hydrogen peroxide? I think it was about 1tbs for a 5 pound dog. Joey vomited immediately and the vet said wait 10 minutes and do it again. I'm not sure about the exact dosage. I'll try looking it up.

You can induce vomiting with peroxide....I've done it before.

The amount I posted was wrong, it's more like 1 teaspoon per 10lbs of dog. When Good Dogs Eat Bad Things

Oh no! I ran to the store to get the Hydrogen Peroxide and gave him like 1/2 tbsp......he has thrown it all up but is dry heaving. What else can I do? His little sides are sunk in.:(


He weighs 5 lbs.

We've given him water & he is eating treats which I think is good.

I gave Reno probably close to that much. He threw up (several times), foamed at the mouth and dry heaved for several minutes afterwards. If he doesn't stop soon, I would call the poison control hotline number listed above, just to be safe.

Did he throw up the pills?

Well, I just PM her. Did he vomit much? If you think you got it all, I would think giving water would be ok.

You did the right thing by making him vomit. Did he vomit up the pills? Did they look broken down much? Also, be sure to call poison control and tell them what it was that he swallowed. They should be able to advise you what to do next.

Yes, he drank water and was eating a few bland chicken treats. Yes, the pills looked broken down and they were foamy but I guess that's from the peroxide. I will call poison control now. Thank you ladies so much. I would have had no clue. Now I know.

Good deal then....his tummy should probably start calming down soon. You might want to call, like Michele suggested just to be sure something else shouldn't be given

I'm so happy for you both! If you don't mind my asking, how did he get the pills?

This may not apply in your case but a good suggestion I read for storing pills and preventing dropping them on the floor......store them in a drawer and dispense in your hand over the open drawer. This way if any pill should fall out of your hand, it will hopefully fall into the drawer.

Yes, I alway do it over the sink for the same reason, too easy to flip off the counter and on to the floor. These little guys are just so fast.

[I]Please give your vet a call in the morning so he can tell you if he wants to see your baby:aimeeyork:thumbup: to make sure he is OK. If he throws up to much he may need fluids. Good Luck and hope everything turns out OK

Of course you should know what happened. I keep my pills and everything safely up high but the drawer is a wise place. My friend came over for dinner and had his vitamins, green tea energy pill, etc in the pocket of his sweatshirt. He took the sweatshirt off in the other room and the pills fell to the floor. I didn't even know it happened and neither did he. I went into the room to grab something and noticed a 1/2 vitamin on the floor and one full capsule type pill. I freaked out and asked him what he had in his pockets and he told me and then I got on YT asap. He went to the store with me right after we read Nancy's first post and took Derby with us so we could give it to him right away. I made him hold him on his lap in the car while he puked everything up...it was really hard on him. I believe he has learned his lesson.

I'm glad Derby is ok too, I was so panicked last night, I couldn't find the document I have with exact dosage requirements, and tried to do a search. It seem like the dosage requirements would be a good idea to post on the poison sticky.
