Those that own 1 Yorkie How do you not buy another one! Those that used to have 1 yorkie, then submitted, how was your experience? |
I have had my yorkie for about 2 months now and as soon as he is fixed I'm going to be on the hunt for a female. Like I have seen in many people's sigs. you can't have just one and I believe them! |
I do not want to buy another dog whatsoever, especially a Yorkie...but I'm not sure if I can help myself. |
I'd like to get another one but just don't have the room......sometimes my baby seems like he'd love to have someone to play with:( |
I just babysit my granpuppies (both boys) @our house alot!!!!! Bella loves them dearly & so do I!:2hearts2: |
I got my second yorkie 6 months after the first one!! 1 year latter,I keep one puppies from there first litter.. and I just got my forth yorkie one 1 month ago! I love them all!! I got 2 boys and 2 girls. For now...lol The more the better!! Yorkies are like chip.. once you have one... you just want more!! :yorkiesar :aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
It's very difficult! And it gets tougher with every new baby photo here on YT. |
I would love to have another, but I don't think the one I have now will go for it. I hate to say but she does not seem to like other dogs, not sure why. |

I'd looooooooove to get another cutie, but then I think about how much this one little boy-diva costs me in a month in food, health insurance, grooming, etc. and I don't think I could afford another one! |
1 Attachment(s) After ten years I finally gave in and bought another one. Gizmo my older one and my teapot was 10 years old when I got Barkley. I worried about the transition, could I love another one as much, would he feel left out, would he be mean to the new one, etc. I manage a veterinarian's office and talked at length with my vet and he encouraged me to go ahead. He said Gizmo would teach the new one (Barkley) his good habits, teach him how to potty, etc. He was right. The transition was perfect. Giz has been a true gentleman. Sometimes he gets aggravated but has been just great with Barkley. He has taught him how to potty, and Barkley looks to Gizmo for everything. On August 15th Barkley will be 1 and Gizmo will be 11 on August 16th. It has been the best thing I have ever done. I will admit that Gizmo has always been very well behaved, laid back little guy and I know that has a lot to do with how he accepted Barkley. They are all different. |
I will not have to buy another one because at my birthday , my grandmother offered me to choose a puppy from the litter she have . They are so adorable, I don't know which one to choose . |
I only had one Yorkie growing up and then when she past I got another Yorkie...when he turned 7 I decided to adopt a Yorkie in need of a home who was also 7. Tae (one I already had) also did not really care for other dogs...I think he thought he was a person... it took a few months for him to adjust to his new brother but now they are inseperable.... if one is gone for 5 minutes the other is so excited when he comes back...since then I have added to more Yorkies (adopted) and am considering a 5th :-) |
I have considered getting another one - but Bailey is so perfect! She doesn't bark, doesn't chew, was potty trained in two months and has a great disposition. After Bailey - I'm afraid another one won't be able to live up the expecations that Bailey has already set. We get all the love we need from her! |
ugh i want another one soooo bad! hubby gave me the "okay" a few months ago and i started looking for the perfect little boy.. unfortunately we fell into some unexcpected medical bills. :( soo until we get back on our feet i must wait... although the more time that passes with just barbie the more i wonder if she even wants a sibling? she's quite the diva, i think she enjoys being an only child.. i guess we'll see what happens in a few months. |
Chip was 10 months old when we brought Smokey (6 months) home. At first it was nothing but dog fights for about 2 weeks, but now they are best friends! |

Pettysmith, that is so wonderful to hear! I have wanted another one for a while now, but I will be travelling quite a bit for the next 3 years or so. I take Gracie everywhere with me--she's so well-behaved on planes, in hotels, at meetings---no one even knows I have her. I couldn't travel with both of them, which wouldn't be fair. Gracie is 6 and I was hoping she wouldn't be too old at 9/10 to get a 2nd when my travelling days are over. You've just made my day :) |
I got another one after having Rocky for almost a year, I decided I wanted a little girl and the next day my friend told me her cousins yorkie was preggers, I said if she has a girl I want her, she had one singleton little girl..she's now my Bella :) My fiance and I just wanted another yorkie to raise, take care of, and love, and we wanted Rocky to have a playmate as well. Rocky was afraid of Bella at first (he would run and hide behind my legs, LOL), but after a few days he warmed up to her and now their BFFs! I would love to have another one right now, but there are so many reasons as to why I shouldn't, I'm not going too get another one now. Maybe in a few years, but right now definitly isn't the time. |

I feel pretty much the same way :) I love spoiling Lucy to death and with two cats I'm spread as far as I want to be. I do love seeing all the new babies on YT! Safire, your little boy is just the cutest! |

Ever since I got Deegan I knew I wanted to get another one. Now he's three and the urge hit me pretty hard for a while, I think I'm just getting over it... I would still like one, but the reasons why I think I'm gonna let him be a spoiled only fur baby is that it will be double the cost for vet bills, grooming and of course toys, clothes, treats, etc. And the fact that I love to bring Deegan with me as often as I can, and it will be really hard to do that with two... To chase after him when we go somewhere gets to be enough sometimes... like if we go to a friends bbq - watching him so that he minds his manners, isn't bothering anyone, and being careful around kids can keep me busy. And when I take him to do errands - it would be pretty hard bringing two dogs in with me and fumbling with my purse or whatnot would be too much, and I don't like to leave him in the car... With two it would be alot. So I think I'll wait a while. |
I just have one yorkie guy, he is only 18 weeks but quite the handful! I currently live in an apartment and we also have a cat so there isnt room. Plus with vet bills for both pets, and my cat getting older i dont want to stress her out anymore than her one little brother already does:wink:!My next dog will be bigger also although i love my little man. I plan to get a female great dane  when i get a house... Buff will always be my baby tho. And the last reason... Buff is a mommas boy and would be sooooo jealous!!!:p |
My Sophie is an only furchild and I think it will probably stay that way. When I see a cute puppy I want it so bad but when I really sit down and think about all that comes along with it I change my mind. Sophie is a really good girl and was potty trained in no time. I take her with me all the time and I just know it would be so hard to take two. I also love to spoil Sophie with clothes and toys. With the added vet expenses I don't think I would be able to continue to do that. She will be four this year and just don't think she would like it now. When she was younger she would have loved it. Now when I hold a friends dog and talk to it she looks at me with these sad eyes and tries to lick my nose as if to say look at me mommy I'm cute. Oh and my hubby is totally against it. He loves his girl. |

We have just the one, but also a small house and TWO cats. Another one is out of the question. My elder cat, Tigger, is 16+ and has his own basement condo as he would swipe both Ozzie and the younger cat in a New York minute. (Loves people but not other animals.) Younger cat, Toby, is a little over 2 and a pain in the butt, but cute as hell. He and Oz are like true siblings. Sometimes they play. Sometimes they just annoy the crap out of each other. But they generally get along. |
I would love to get another but at this point in my life I just CAN'T. For starters, I don't own my own house and it's very very tough in my city to find someone who will rent a place and allow a dog. I got very lucky to find a place as nice as this and a landlord who was understanding! But he did say that one is the limit. On top of that, my life isn't settled down yet. I am only 24, not married, still deciding where my life is going to take me! I'm pretty sure I won't be staying here forever, and it is much easier to move around having just one furbutt than 2 or more! Especially if I need to fly! So for me, Layla is my only baby for now, and I think we're both happy this way. She gets all of my attention and doesn't have to share her bully sticks with ANYONE! But that's not to say I've never been tempted! |
i would love to have another one, but sammy ,i am afraid will not like the new yorkie. so many times i am so tempted to get another, but then i think about the very strong bond i have with sammy. some days i say, i want to go out and buy one or two yorkies, because they are such wonderful loving babies. i have had dogs since i was born, all females, but this one is my first boy dog . sammy is my love and i dont want him to ever feel jealous. he lives with 4 cats and the work alone with them is quite a bit, but they all needed homes, so we took them in. he is very attached to me and is always with me. so 4 cats and a yorkie, 2 adults , do i need any more work ? , plus we live in a one bedroom condo , 600 sq ft. maybe one day i will break down and get another, maybe |
I've had Lola since April and I would love to get another Yorkie...for her to play with and for me to love. Unfortunately another dog is not in the cards for me right now. I'm currently unemployed and can only promise financial stability to one precious pup. Plus a yorkie was my dream dog. If we get another dog I will have to let my boyfriend pick. Though he loves Lola just as much as I do and wouldn't trade her for anything in the world, I know he would not pick another Yorkie. LOL |
after getting my first yorkie took me 5years to get another, she is 5months old now and trying to convince hubby for the 3rd one lol |
i know what you mean.. WE ARE GETTING ANOTHER BABY GIRL!! we have always known we wanted to get Avie a sibling.. and she is at a good age, in my opinon, to add another baby to the family! She deserves a playmate! we are very excited! just cant resist the yorkie love!;) |
