I have to board my puppy this weekend, nervous.
Me and my husband have to go somewhere this weekend and we cant bring our sweetie. I knew this was coming but I figured my mother in law would be able to care for her. But....she just got called to work two 12 hour days this weekend. And I don't want to leave her alone that long. (Anybody else I know where I live, I dont trust with her.)
Luckily, my sweetie just got her last set of boosters. Shes 14 weeks old. And I talked to the vet, who also does boarding, and he said it would be ok if she was kept in the cat area since shes still too young to get her kennel cough shot. (Keep in mind, this is the best vet in 4 counties that I trust completely.) I also talked to the lady who takes care of the boarded animals. She was really nice, gave me a tour of the areas (very clean and organized), told me she always goes out of her way to make more time for the puppies, and said I could call to check on her. I can also have her bed and safe toys with her.
I know she will be ok, physically, Im just worried that she will be scared being away from me for so long.
Heather, mommy to Drake (7 yr old son), Triss (yorkie),
spike (dachshund), ash and misty (my cats), and a baby on the way due Oct 1st!

I bet she will be fine. She's been to the vet before so she already recognizes the smells there and the voices. That should help.

I wish I was close to you. I understand how you feel about leaving her. I would be the very same way.

It is always hard when you have to leave your baby. But it sounds like your vet and his assistant are very good. Take them up on the offer.. and call every-so-often and check on her. If sure beats leaving her with someone you don't trust. There may be some YT people in your area, too. Have to checked into that?
