| Bath water in his ears...drying recipe? I just gave Gizmo a bath and apparently got some water in his ears. I know that I've found a recipe for a vinegar solution that you can make at home to help dry out the ears, but I can't find it now. Any suggestions? Does anyone have that recipe?

| Thanks! I think the recipe I read had a little alcohol in it too. I think it was 50/50 water to vinegar with a little alcohol.

| Well, he's shaking his head like crazy, so I am going to go try that. Thanks again.

| I just looked up a recipe...50/50 water and white vinegar. They recommended not using alcohol. They said it could cause severe pain if there are any abrasions in the dog's ear canal. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I don't know that the pain would be severe....it may burn. Like if you cut yourself and put alcohol on it. Same feeling. The pediatrician always recommended rubbing alcohol in my daughter's ears to prevent swimmer's ear.

| I always hold the hair dryer way back, put it on warm or cool and dry their ears after a bath.

| I couldn't find any alcohol, so I used 50/50 white vinegar solution. He was NOT a happy camper! lol But, if it helps, that's good. I have been letting him air dry this summer, but I think I will go use the blow dryer for his ears. That's a great idea! Thanks!

| We used to use the vinegar/alcohol mix in our own ears as a child to prevent swimmer's ear. Now you can just buy swimmer's ear drops already made up and it's the same thing. They are easier to use to me because they are in the perfect little dropper bottle.
