Just Took Maggy May In Well, it's 7:45, I just got home from taking Maggy May in and dropping her off for her spay, I'm a basket case. She puked a lil this morning, I know it's probably from not having anything to eat or drink since 7:30 yesterday evening. The doc told me they'd probably try and feed her a lil something today before she came home cause of her being so small and being worried about her getting hypoglycemic, but the secretary said normally they tell the owners not to feed them till 7:30 in the evening when we bring them home. Is this customary for such little ones? Of course the secretary isn't the doc either so I'm not going by what she says. I did take some of her Wellness puppy food in just in case so if the doc does try and give her a lil something that she has "her" food that she's on at home. She wasn't allowed to have her blanket with her, the secretary said the reason being is, a lot of the times when they wake up they urinate on the blankets of get sick on them. I felt so bad leaving her there, when the girl went to take her from me Maggy dug in and was trying to hang on. I asked them to call me as soon as the surgery was over so I knew she was out and everything was ok. It's weird sitting here not having her in my lap or having her try and steal my slippers off my feet or seeing her chase Justice (our cat) I don't like this, I want her home. Please say some prayers for Lil Miss Maggy May today that all goes well. I'll update soon as I hear anything. Thanks in advance. |
My thoughts are with you and Maggy May . |
I was in your shoes two weeks ago...I know EXACTLY how you feel. Waiting is the worst part, but once you get her home you get to love & spoil her and you will both feel better. Prayers coming your way for you and your baby. |
Prayers coming out from Utah! I know how difficult it is to leave them - your little one will be back in your arms soon:) |
Ohhh ... I hope Maggy will be ok and you too !!! Prayers are on the way Girl !!! Hugs, Jenny and Maya :animal-pa |
Awww...poor Maggy May. It is SOO sad when we have to drop them off for surgery. I will say a prayer that all will go well. Is she coming home with you today? Hugs to Maggy May. |
The vet just called me, Maggy May's ok!!!! She's out, the surgery is over!!! I asked if she was awake yet, they said not completely but she's getting there. Thank God and thank all of you so much for the prayers for her as well as myself, it means so much to me. I'm so glad it's over and she's out of surgery. I can't wait till I get to go pick her up today and she's back in my arms, I just love that girl so much I don't know what I'd ever do without her. They said everything went fine and there was no complications, now lets hope and pray for an quick and full recovery with no complications!! THANK you all for everything!! I'll update again when I get her home today. |

FANTASTIC!!! I knew she'd be a champion. :D:D:D Now all thats left is to spoil her! The worst is over and within a day or two you'll be holding her back from tearing around the house. Ella Bean was TOTALLY 200% back to normal after 2 weeks and its now been about 5 and I can't even feel or see the incision. No scar and her fuzzy little fur has grown back! Maggie May will be a-ok before you know it. I'll be thinking of you! |
Thank you so much ladies, I can't tell you how much it means to be able to come here and know there's always love and support here for Maggy May and I. Oh I can't wait to get her home and kiss her and gently hug her and love her and spoil her. Who would ever of thought that a furbaby could make ones heart feel like this? I thank God for her everyday. She's a fighter, she came into this world fighting, had to fight for her life and I know she'll continue to fight. |
That's great!!! Such a relief to have that over. I have to get Roxie done soon. |
thats great news. send a prayer out for a quick recovery. i got abby spayed last tuesday. iwas a wreckkkk cuz i had to leave her there overnight. they said i could pick her up after 10, well i was there by 9:59. She started acting crazy wen she saw me. i started crying lol. wen we came home, she was FINE! she ran and even went down the stairs. i had to leave her on my bed so she won't go anywhere. she had no choice but to sleep lol. they heal soo fast. her stiches are dissolvable and i think they are almost gone alrady. she will be fine. |
Tracy, I'm so glad that Maggy May is doing well! Prayers from us for a quick recovery. :) Carrie |
prayers for Maggie :) Im sure she'll do GREAT! :) |
Sending a prayer for Maggie. Zoey was fed the night before very late. Then she didn't eat until later the night after her spay. They are usually given an iv which keeps them hydrated and ok for the time being. Didn't have any problems with either Lulu or Zoey with an hypo episode. |
great to hear she did welll hehe make sure u give her tons of hugs and kisses later |
Just wanted to drop in and let you all know I just got home with Maggy May about 30 minutes ago. I've got her all situated in her bed with her onesie on, she looks like she feels miserable right now. I hope she feels better soon. Thank you all for all the prayers, I really appreciate it. |

I've had many dogs spayed over the years and I know how you feel, but just wait till you get her home and watch how happy she will be to have her mommy back, and her own bed and toys. They recovery very quickly with moms TLC. ;) |
I'm so glad she came through it ok. I know she's glad to be home and you are happy to have her home.:) |
I am so, so, so happy she is home!!!!! Kisses and treats! Ella was miserable the first day and the next morning, but by the next afternoon, she was sorta back on... |
4 Attachment(s) Thanks for everything everyone, you're truly the best bunch! Maggy isn't feeling to hot right now, she's been in her bed since I brought her home today. I put her bed on mine and have been laying beside her the whole time. I got her up a few times and put her on her puppy pad, she went pee once. She's drank a bit of water but I haven't let her have to much cause I don't want her to get sick. I've also rubbed some Kayro on her gums 2 Xs today just to make sure her sugar level doesn't drop, I'd rather be safe than sorry. I normally feed her Wellness Just For Puppies (the hard kiddble) but she didn't want any of it, I don't know if it's cause her gums were sore today from where they pulled her baby tooth or what, so, I had the hubby run and get a can of Wellness Just For Puppies. I gave her a teaspoon of it and she ate it right up, I hope it doesn't make her sick. I'll see if I can get her to eat any of the hard food later or in the morning. I can't wait till she feels better, I feel so bad for her right now. Justice (our cat) knows Maggy doesn't feel good right now, she's been staying right on the bed with us just looking at Maggy. I've attached some pics for anyone wanting to see. |
Tomorrow she'll probably back to her old self. Justice is a good kitty nurse. :) Night night Maggy....hope you feel better tomorrow. |

Reggie was neutered last Thursday....picked him up and you never knew anything had been done. |
Awwww...the poor little schmoochie face. :( It sure does look like you are doing everything you possibly can to make her nice and comfy, and Justice sure is being a caring big sister. With all of that love, the little sweetie should be better in no time! :) Still sending prayers her way for a good recovery. Carrie |
Oh, poor sweetheart. The second picture is so sad where you can look in her eyes. But, the worst is over and she will start getting back to her own self tomorrow! Have a restful night, Maggy May. |
