Sam you are classic. Too funny. i've actually been in people's homes who have them and I always thought, what a strange idea, to dress toilet paper rolls...you got me rollin' at work. Thanks girl! As for the clothing, people always tell me Coco just looks darling in her outfits. Then there are some that say something like, " she's a dog!!!! she needs to be free and not dressed like some kind of toy." To which I say (not afraid to speak my mind) " well if you'd done your homework before speaking, you'd know that it's for health reasons as well as aesthetic. I think she looks cute and really it's my dog isn't it? I don't tell you how to dress your kids, which by the way, could take some pointers on dressing from my dog." as I casually walked away. She did the whole "UGHH how rude"

It simply amazes me how rude some people can be sometimes. Guess her mother didn't preach the "if ya can't say something nice"......

Don't be ashamed of what you do for a living. The way I see it, your clientele is an elite group of people with quite a few disposable dollars at hand and they chose to spend it on their dogs

My bf would certainly disagree with this one...lol..I spend HUMAN food shopping money...lol, I used to do a 150.00 a week food shopping..that is now a 150.00 bi-weekly food shopping and dinner out only 1 time a week now!! :0

I think its great you are doing what you like and making money at it. Isn't one of the reasons people get little dogs is to dress them up? I would love to have cute little clothes to dress my dogs up in. For the time I have to settle on putting them in my daughters American Girl clothes. Im new on the yorkie site so could you tell me where you sell clothes. Thank you and keep on doing what YOU WANT TO DO. Don't worry about the shallow people in the world.....

I have never felt embarassed about dressing my dogs, most people SAY how cute they are in their little outfits, but I just really don't know what to say to this lady. It took me by suprise. Got any good comebacks for me?

I also get this everytime I go to the craft store to get fabric, people ask me what am I making? I always get the wierdest looks, so I have started to lie or say I'm not sure yet.

Why do people think it is so wierd? It seems so common to me anymore. Heck, I even saw purse dog carriers on the shelves at Raley's last night, of all places. And Target has the cutest line of dog clothes.

I just don't get what the big deal is...

I hate that! I have had that happen to me to. especially from men. They think its crazy. And EVERYTIME i purchase fabric they ask me what it is for and they always think I say "doll clothes". Which I guess is a normal answer. SOmetimes I dont even correct them because if I do they think I am nuts.

I bet that lady cant possibly make a fortune off candles. I would tell her to stick one where the sun dont shine

You mean you don't dress the babies to pick up your son up from school. Do so with pride you are very talented and should advertise the fact. Bet you would get more ppl telling you how cute they were dressed. She is a pushy sell lady and ppl will run when they see her coming after awhile and how many candles can you own?

I get weird looks when I put Jewels in a dress and take her out. So now I only put shirts or bandanas on her when I take her out.

I was wondering if someone started a business like the candles or Mary Kay with the dog clothes if it would go, I think that would be more fun than tupperware... a dog clothes party!! Would that be a hit or is it just us that's crazy for dogs?

You should have told her that your dogs are dressed better than some peoples kids and then looked her right in the eye.

If she ever makes another comment about you making and selling dogs clothes just ask her what she makes on a candle then tell her what you make. LOL

OMG Jodi! What a witch. You should have laughed in her face and told her how STUPID her candle business is. I only go to those boring demonstrations if there is going to be FREE food (yes, I am a poor college student). I candle demonstrations, pampered chef, mary kay, etc. Doggie clothes are way cooler.

P.s. If anyone in my family or my friends is reading this - take it as a hint that I just go to your demonstrations for FREE FOOD and DRINKS. Thanks!
