| Im new and full of questions! :) Hi, Im Beth and I live in the mountains of California. I am a mother to 3 boys and a wife. Because I am raising all boys, I decided our dog would be a female. So I got Sadie at 8 weeks old on June 9th of this year! She is so much fun and full of energy!! I have a couple of questions though.... 1. When should I get her groomed for the 1st time? 2. I have to register her and need help coming up with a fancy CKC name for her. We've named her Sadie. Any ideas of a fun name? Thanks and I look forward to meeting more Yorkie owners and learning more about my lil' girl! |

| ....Welcome Beth & Sadie!!! You will love it here. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help. I don't know about the registration but as far as taking her to a groomer you need to wait until she has had her entire series of puppy shots. Where in the mountains of California are you?

| Nah, I dont want to groom her myself. I have 3 boys to tend to and its just easier for me to take her down to have it done. Im just wondering what age I should start doing it at? I think for a fancy name, Im considering Sadielicious Lil' Independence. What do you think? I live about 85 miles NW of Reno, Nevada in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Im on the other side of Lake Tahoe. |

| Welcome to Yt!! Glad to have you here I wouldn't be in a hurry to go to the groomer. Have you decided how long you want to let her get to? Do you prefer a puppy cut or the long hair - look at pictures to help you get an idea How about Sassy Sadie of Susanville

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk! As far as grooming, you don't want to take her to the groomers until her puppy shots are complete, which is about 4 months old. You may still want to work with her feet and get her use to being brushed. (This will help her from being as scared when she gets groomed, and will help with her daily care.)

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Hello and WELCOME to YorkieTalk!!! Congrats on your lil Sadie! How exciting for you to finally have a lil girl in the house!!!!!! I would have her groomed as soon as she "looks" like she needs it, you want to start her out young so she will get used to it. I hope you post pics of your lil girl! |

| Thanks for the welcome! If I knew how to attach a photo here, I would but I dont know so I added a couple to a new album I created. The only reason Im asking about grooming her is because I have been told that I want to keep her ear hair short so that her ears dont flop over. She is almost 3 months old and hasnt been groomed yet so I wasnt sure what the normal time frame was. She is already learning to stay in the yard without leaving and LOVES being in the grass! She chases my kids around and is chewing on anything she can get her mouth on. We have a crawling baby too so they team up and are taking over the house! LOL!! Its so much fun to watch them all. She fits in with our family and really makes it alot of fun! We have a trip coming up to go to Washington, but I dont think we can take her. She would have to stay in the hotel and they wouldnt like that so I am going to leave her with my parents. They have 2 dogs that she's already met several times and loves to play with them so it should be perfect for her. I wish we could take her with us but I cant. It will only be about 4 days though. Thanks again for the welcome! |
