| Getting Fleas From theVets? Hi, I had a dental done on my boy about two weeks ago, and when he came back from the vets I noticed a few fleas. I wasn't happy, but figured that the vet can't control what comes in and since he was there all day there were probably a lot of dogs in and out of the cages back there. I put some Advantage on all the dogs and didn't notice any more problems. Then on Monday I took the two puppies in for their shots, and when I brought them back noticed fleas on them a few days later! Does anyone else have this problem at their vets? I think I'm going to find a new vet, one of my boys is really sensitive to flea bites and gets a rash from them. Is this something that is normal? I've never had the problem before. The clinic seems nice and the vets and techs are all really nice and good with the dogs. I noticed when the puppies went in that there was a lot of dog hair on the floor, like the dog who had been in before had shed a lot. Whitney |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I think it's very possible they got the fleas from the vet, if I were you I would inform them of what happened, and tell them I will be changing vets. Maybe if enough people complain they will clean up their act.

| I have never had that problem. If you like the vet, you could talk to them. Maybe they don't know they have a problem.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I have never had that problem. Sounds like they have a cleaning problem there. I would call them up and tell them that it happend the two times you were there. That is just plain old rediculous.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have never had that problem. Prior to all the topical flea prevention, I have been at my vets and have seen dogs in the waiting room that looked like they had fleas and I made sure to keep my dog away from them. I would definately change vets.

| We've also gone to the vet flea free and come home with some hitchhikers. Check-ups seem to go okay, it was when he had to stay a few nights during his neuter. I'd definitally talk to them about it.

| Hi, Thanks for the advice guys. I had never had the problem before, but was just wondering if anyone else had. We just moved up here and I've only used them a few times, but I think I'm just going to find a new one. It's the only clinic in this town, but it's worth it to move if they don't bring fleas home. Thanks, Whitney |

| I would let it go or just tell them. Ellie got fleas once from the vets and there was one crawling on me one other time. It isn't everytime though. The thing that would concern me is dog hair all over the floor. That is why I would consider switching vets. They evidently don't keep things too clean.
