| I would just call and make sure it isn't a typo. I bet they meant to put $1800. While it's good to be careful and vigilant...but what ever happened to innocent until proven guilty. Call the number, grill the breeder, ask for more pictures, compare the pic on the website to the ones they send, then make your determination if the ad is bogus or not. If they arent local or within a acceptable driving distance, I wouldn't bother. Unless your friend is dead set on this dog after you've grilled the breeder ask them to meet you at their site/home. If they refuse...hang up the phone. Just my 2 cents

| those two ads are def by the same person. i have never heard the term "blocky body" used, and here it is used in BOTH ads. those pictures do not look... like... a picture a breeder would put up of a puppy they are selling. what tehy have up are better described as "photographers photos" |

| Maybe you should try to help your friend by looking into yorkie rescues. Sometimes the best thing to do to help someone is redirect them in a better direction. Another thing that could help her is to encourage her to sign up on yorkietalk, that way she can really see how important it is to not buy into a scam or a puppy mill. I remember my cousin saw my yorkie, well she wanted one too. So I gave her my breeders info. She asked how much they cost and I said usually $1,000 and up. Well, instead she called a local ad. A 7 week old "Teacup" yorkie pup for $400. I told her that it wasn't a good idea. I pleaded for her not to get it. (She is a stinker and has always liked to compete with my sisters and I, so she was a snot and said "don't be mad cause I'm getting a better deal then you!" Mind you she is 5 years older then me and was in her mid 20s ) Well, I told her sometimes things that are too good to be true are too good to be true, I tried and tried. A week later she called me crying, she called the ad and the lady said she lived 2 hours away but would drive the pup to my cousins house. She did, my cousin paid, and 4 days later the pup died from parvo. She was heart broken and there was nothing to be done because she had no idea where the lady was. There are many scams out there all we can do is keep trying because we can be saving not only heart ache but the support of these scams. Now my cousin has a beautiful maltese boy and has been a but nicer to me since she realize I was trying to save her from that pain.
