There is def something wrong...someone I know who was looking for a Yorkie saw a similiar ad...so I wrote to see what they would say, knowing it was too good to be true...and it was the aiport scam.....with a twist this time it was Florida not another country...as soon as I said that I had family in Florida (which I don't) and would fly there to pick the dog up I never heard back...

Come on, there has got to be something wrong here. I paid $1400 five years ago for Penelope and $2500 for Trevor. :eek:

That picture has been with several so-called breeders. I can't remember whose pups (well it's pretty old, so they are probably adults now) they were.

In California they run $1500 to $3500. I paid $2000 for spanky and $2500 for violett.
If you are looking for a breeder you can go to breeders.net put in your zip coed and some will come up so you can research them. good luck.

Same price around here - like they say, if it's too good to be truth than it's not!! I would keep saving and be sure.

Where I live they usually run $600-$2000. I got my Alastor for only $750. He doesn't have show bloodlines but is tiny. He is worth every cent of course. Just some advice someone gave me about getting a puppy online, if you do choose to go that route make sure to get the breeder's vet's info and call their vet, and request that they take a photo of the puppy with something unusual like a dictionary, bag of chips, red shirt, or something else odd that no one would normally put in a photo with a puppy. That way you can be sure the puppy is even real. References are very important and don't take the guest book raves seriously, a lot of the time the "breeder" puts those on themselves.

I paid 300.00 dollars for Pepper. The vet said he is very healthy. The breeder I bought him from was
selling the males for a lot less than the females. The females were going for about 600 to 800 dollars.
I think it was probably because everyone wants the females. I fell in love with Pepper when I saw him.

you can find great puppies on the internet. but you must visit the home to see the parents or not purchase.. always pick up your puppy. reputable breeders encourage visits to their homes:animal-pa

I love your suggestion. I personally do have puppies on the internet. Any decent breeder wouldn't mind the extra pictures. Though I think a piece of paper with the days date and time might be a great idea too. maybe reference of people who have gotten puppies in the past. I think the vet is a must online or not. Some breeders get offended. I personally think a good breeder will check out the people the puppy is going to and a good home will check out the breeder just as well.

That usually has SCAM written all over it... The lowest I have seen a Yorkie pup go for was $800 and that was without papers..
I paid $975 w/o papers for Mischa.. If I could afford another I wouldn't even blink at the price..

I actually was thinking that one of them if not both was a scam. The first guy I emailed told me he had 2 yorkies, male and female, and that they were free for adoption but I had to pay the shipping fee which came to $320. He also said they were with him somewhere else because he got a job promotion and had to go to cameron. He also asked me a few questions, same as the other person I emailed but the other person seemed more concerned. It seems like finding a reputable breeder in NYC is as hard as finding a golden ticket (if your not charlie bucket).

:eek: Oh my goodness! ~THIS IS A SCAM! DO NOT fall for this. I had 2 different people with different emails and names with the same story contact me through emails and say the same thing, asking all kinds of personal questions. Did the email go something like this:

"thanks for your interest in my puppy.she is still available but there is a little problem and the problem is that i left the united states yesterday for a conference in ST Alberta Cameroon and i will probably be here for a week or two so if you really need this puppy then there is no problem, i will be able to transport her from here to you o.k. all i need is a good home for this my baby.but you will have to answer me some few questions,sorry it is just for assurances ok
ARE YOU A PET BREEDER?
HAVE YOU ANY PET EXPERIENCE?
ARE YOU WILLING TO TAKE GOOD CARE OF THIS PUPPY?
HOW SOON DO YOU WANT THE PUPPY?
ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN?
i mean no offense o.k all i want is a good home for my puppy that is all..so get back to me with this informations so we can start the flight arrangements because it means we will beshipping the puppy. the climate and food here is not good but i never knew before coming here so that is why me and my husband is looking for a good and religious home to adopt this puppy.if that is okay by you get back so we can proceed as soon as possible. thanks and stay blessed"

Please locate a reputable breeder on Yorkietalk, if you can not find one local to you, and buy with confidence. :thumbup:
