What's the regular price for a yorkie pup? I was looking online and i came across vast.com and there's a section where people advertise pets they sell. I came across a few people (breeders) saying they will sell a yorkie that's 12 weeks old for $190 and the pup comes with health papers, akc regestration papers, health guarantee, etc. I inquired about a few of them but it just seems a little weird that they would sell the pups for such a low price compared to others that sell them for close to 2000 dollars. Sorry if Im asking alot of questions you guys, Im just really new to this lol ^_^; |
I think the average cost for a pet quality Yorkie where I live is between $600 and $1200. I would not buy a $190 Yorkie unless it is a rescue. Cheap puppies are usually sick. I wish Yorkies cost $190 because then I would have four Yorkies. |
I could also be a scam!! They will tell you that the dog is in another country and they will send the dog when you wire the money to them. Usually they say that they are religious missionaries or something to get you to trust them and then they get your money and you never see a dog!! Don't fall for it, just save up some more money and while you are saving you can be studying everything about Yorkies and you'll be an expert by the time you get your new pup!! Good luck!! |

in new york,, around 1800 to 2000 dollars |
Lots of times you hear stories about puppies being stolen. Most of these dogs are sold. Its a shame that we have people out there wanting to take advantage of our trusts. Its better to research and get you a good breeder that others know and have dealt with. It will be worth it in the end and you won't be disappointed. |
My initial instict would be to think it is a scam. |
...... 190 $ for a :aimeeyork... is too good to be true .... |
In Ohio you can find adds stating about $600 and up for males and $800 and up for girls. Most breeders here are that I contacted are selling boy's for $800 and girls for $1,000. obtaining a puppy by internet sets up for lots of scamers to take advantage of people if you are not careful. You will want to check into the breeder selling pups before sending any money. You want to check out the breeder.. ask lots of questions and also make sure the breeder is asking you lots of questions too, they will want to make sure that the puppy is going to a good home.. not just making a sale! Ask for references and check them out.. People will be glad to tell you about their pet the got from the breeder! go see the puppy and it's parents if possible. Ask about a health contract, AKC papers, All that good stuff. You will be thankful in the long run buying from a reputable breeder. |
here it is anywhere from 600 -2,000 i paid around the middle ground for mine |
Prices of Yorkies In Los Angeles,California about 1800.00 to 2100.00.:animal-pa |
In Montréal, Canada... I paid $500 for Logan (health papers only) and at one year old he is 8lbs now.... with all the papers and smaller ($1,000). $190 hard to beleive:eek: if it is to good to be true beware! |
I would say that its a SCAM! Pups around here are $600-$1400. You can find them a little cheaper but usually its not a very good blood line and someone that is just breeding to make $. |
Where I am at in California it is a Rual part. In the bigger cities Yorkie Pups run anywhere from $600-$2500. What your seeing, I believe are scams. :aimeeyork |

IMO... it is probably a scam. Be VERY cautious if you purchase a puppy online!! There are too many scams out there. |
I've seen some advertised here for as low as 300 and high as 2500 |
i live in the suburbs of chicago and i got chloe for 1k with paperwork akc registration and all her updated shots and shes 3lbs as an adult my breeder was a great find! |
In Kansas, the puppies can be that low if the people are desperate to "get rid" of them. Most gennerally though Yorkies sell for $400 and up. I sell my Yorkie boys for $500 and Yorkie girls for $750. Health guarentee, 2 or 3 vaccinations, (many times also rabies vaccination has been give and sometimes neutered. Remember I tend to keep them until they are older. LOL) |
$190 = lie, sick puppy, puppy mill puppy, scam If you live in NY, you will most likely pay more bc prices are higher. I would say $600-$1500. But, if you are wanting a show dog with champion bloodlines, etc. , they will obviously be more. |
I would not trust a dog being that inexpensive. In CA I wouldn't trust any that are under $1,000. I think in some states I've heard people say they got theirs for $600 or something like that but I've not seen that here. |
Be very careful. I think everyone here has given you great advice. It may seem like you are getting a deal now but if it is a sick dog, you will pay more in the long run. Better to pay a higher price and know the puppy is healthy....it will save you money, heartache and worry. There are great resources to very wonderful pups on YT....check them out. |
I live in Atlanta, and got my baby from a breeder in North Georgia because in Atlanta (and I think it runs the same in any major metro city) they were going for about 1200-2000, which I couldn't afford! I got my baby for $550 and he had some for 650 and 750, based on their size expectations. |
Def....a SCAM...I have seen these on Kijiji too!! Beware.... |
BE very, very careful! I would never buy one without seeing the parents, bloodline, and where they were kept. My little Snooldes was bought for me by my daughter and I hate to say it, but it was a puppy mill! She had so many problems, and then died at the age of 4 from her second stroke. It was the saddest thing I ever went through. I was shocked when she told me the conditions of the kennels. I told her I never would have gotten her if I had been there. She said, "oh yes you would mother, it was so sad". But, honestly, I wouldn't have. Then when she sent me the papers, her father and her fathers' daughter were her parents. Not Good! BEWARE! Pay |
Just be careful!! Low prices are not always a scam as I have placed puppies for $250.00. My average price for pet puppies is around $500.00. To me, it just depends on the family and circumstances. I would rather have the puppy go to a great home than "hold" out for more $$. But, I do tend to hold on to them a little longer to evaluate for show purposes. |
