| Seizure Hi, sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place but couldn't figure out how to post in the sick and emergency category. My 10 1/2 yr old boy had a seizure 2 weeks ago. Started staggaring and then appeared to go deaf and blind. We raced him to the vet and they kept him for the day to run tests. While there he had a worse seizure and fell over and his little head contorted so bad they had to shoot him up twice with valium. He's been on phenobarbital twice per day and did well for two weeks but 2 days ago I came home to find him staggering again and I have an emergency vial of valium to give rectally which brought him back around. All tests came back normal and vet is 99.9% positive it's a brain tumor. We can confirm by MRI but that would take away all hope and there would be nothing to be done about it anyway. My question is as this progresses does anyone know what to expect. Vet says there is no way to tell how long he has since we don't know how long he's had it. We can up the meds if seizures become worse. I'm going to start rambling if I continue...I'm just beside myself. If anyone can offer any feedback or any words of comfort I'd appreciate it. I just can't imagine my life without my Max. |
