|  I had a total hip replacement and when I came home JW knew something was wrong. He didnt react the way I thought he would, he was very stand offish. But I think that was because he didnt know what to do. I couldnt hold him like I wanted to and that was new to him. But once I came around he knew he had to be careful and would just sit and look at me or lay beside me. So yes, they know when there is something going on. They are sooo sweet.
