I am sure Tanya is home taking care of her yorkies. She doesn't post on here very often and I have never seen her advertise on here which is not to say that she won't but I would suggest that you call or email her yourself before you start judging her. That is just not fair. You don't even know her. Please call her. You would discover as Kimberley did that you are not "evil" just because you breed for a particular look in a yorkie that most people want. And btw, there have been breeders breeding for the smaller end of the breed standard for over 30 years. It is nothing new. Ava's breeder has been doing it for 30 years and she can pretty much guarantee the size a puppy will be as an adult becasue she knows her lines that well. |

I also think having your breeder close by is a plus. If you have to go out of town and cannot take the dog, they will care for it and they are available at all times if you have questions or concerns or whatever. A good breeder is a valuable resource! |
This isn't about the look of yorkies it's about justifying price gouging - and it seems every thread that you post on Kim you defend people to charging these outrageous prices - It's gone from JEFF DANE to the Wiz of Claws and now this ...Why defend an EIGHT thousand yorkie price tag ? I don't get it ? ' I stress - a buyer can get a GORGEOUS yorkie for a reasonable price - there is no way someone can justify 8 grand unless dealing with the RICH and Senseless. I mean NO offense to people with money - but as someone said - IF someone WANTS to spend 8 GRAND on their dog - Why not get a 2 THOUSAND dollar yorkie and DONATE the rest to a shelter where their money goes to good use ? I guess it's a STATUS thing isn't it ? Personally.. if I HAD 8 grand and bought a puppy - I sure wouldn't brag about it to anyone unless I liked being laughed at. If I were a breeder selling at those prices - my clients would ALL be named "Mr. & Mrs. EASY Money" |

Now let me see if I have this right, I want to make sure after reading all this that I have this all figured out. You can take a piece of crap, dip it in gold, and sell it to someone for $100,000,000.00. In the end (no pun intended, well, maybe) don’t you still have a piece of crap? Or am I still not getting it? |

Kim Yorkmont purposely breeds for under 3lbs where as Tanya hopes for something under 3 lbs there is the difference! Tanya does clearly stated on that thread she breeds 3-6! here is one of her quotes well i made a promise i would breed the dogs as to the standard i would like to buy and the looks i would buy and my opionion and mine only is the 3-4 lbs are the greatest size for apts and pets can take them anywhere not to big not to small here is another but she wasnt solicting huh?? I hope someone on YT gets her so we can watch her grow up! and finally her last one Hi i dont understand you statement but i dont have 2 lbs dogs my dogs are 3-6 lbs sometimes i get smaller but very seldom so i dont know where you get this from but Kim you said she has been perfecting her breeding to get these small ones and she said she doesnt purposely breed them FUNNY HUH! |

I said that. and I stand by it. So many homeless dogs. No reason to charge so much for a dog and overcharge for below breed standard. Anyway, I have absolutely nothing else to say as I feel that a lot things are being repeated. In a few decades, the Yorkshire Terrier breed might be completely ruined and I will be a very sad woman. |

Over-Pricing these extremely small yorkies and gouging people due to their size is wrong. That's not being negative - that's caring about a beautiful breed. Healthy puppies at a FAIR price is what we all want. I know you love the Trendy looks of the new yorkies Kim....that's fine - go for it - but to say they should be selling up to TEN thousand dollars doesn't sit well with me... |

Very well said Kristy. I really dont understand why things here turned into a debate as they many times do. My understanding here was that opinions were wanted. So why not just state them and be done?? Why debate each and every damn question reguarding breeding or size or price or whatever?? Sorry but it is a little annoying when most of the threads referring to these things turn into a debate. |
Good Evening Everyone I am leaving work late now - it's 5:45 and I usually leave at 5:30 but I got so caught up w/ this thread. I can't imagine how many pages it will be when I come into work tomorrow - or it may even be closed. I just want to say that we all should not "argue" because we all love Yorkies or any dog for that matter. So everyone please have a great evening and I'll talk to you tomorrow. :yorkiesar :teethysmi |
